4.5 superb
Both Worlds Memory Rendered Visible
Foo Fighters Foo Fighters
Iron Maiden Powerslave
Metallica Master Of Puppets
Amazing album, incredible depth with both playing and songwriting. The songs are long but never boring. The band are at the peak of their game. Still sounds remarkably fresh after allthese years. If you're just getting into metal and you don't have this, buy it!!!
Queensryche Operation: Mindcrime
Soundgarden Superunknown

4.0 excellent
Amorphis Eclipse
It's a really good album, the songs sound really fresh but still quite accessible. "House Of Sleep" is incredibly catchy, very hard to dislodge that riff from your head. The majority of the album reminds me of Moonspell's best moments.
Black Sabbath Master of Reality
Deftones White Pony
Green Day Dookie
Just a ripping great album from start to finish. So much bouncing energy and so easy to slide into. Having A Blast has one of the best opening riffs, I'd always wished this was track 1. Basket Case is a magnificent single and FOD a brilliant closer. It still sounds remarkably fresh to this day. If you like it short, fast and loud, this is essential.
Green Day American Idiot
I wasn't expecting to like this much after the lacklustre Warning. I really couldn't give a damn about the politics and I can't stand "Holiday". But everything else is great. They aren't brilliant musicians and they're not trying to be. They aren't doing much different now (musically) than what they did with Kerplunk! And "Extraordinary Girl" has to be one of their best ever. It's very easy to slag this band, but it's more courageous to defend them.
Living Colour Stain
Metallica ...And Justice For All
Napalm Death Smear Campaign
Opeth Still Life
Opeth Blackwater Park
Great album, a new favourite emerges each time I hear it. They captured all the elements here that make them such a superb band. Nice balance of soft and loud vocals, production just right, it's all good...

Incubus (USA-CA) The Morning View Sessions
Katatonia Viva Emptiness
Machine Head The Burning Red
Opeth Damnation
Stone Temple Pilots Purple
I agree with your sentiments clairvoyant. I really like the first 5 songs but they seem to hit a flat spot in the middle and never recover (Army Ants the best of the rest IMO). Always had a liking for this band for some reason, I always thought they would have a massively successful album. But it wasn't to be....
The Dillinger Escape Plan Irony Is a Dead Scene
TV on the Radio Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes

2.5 average
Korn Follow the Leader
I'm a huge fan of the bands influences, (Faith No More particularly) so most people who know me well thought I would love this. But I never have. I do like the opening track quite a lot, but I've never ever been comfortable with the production. It's just all over the place, and Davis' voice just isn't strong enough. I was always surprised this album was so popular.
Metallica St. Anger
Silverchair Young Modern
