Motorhead laid the groundwork for Nirvana, Minor Threat, Metallica.....every rock group that's been big in the last 20 years owes it to Motorhead somehow. "Ace of Spades" is their greatest album, hands-down and features their greatest song, the title track. listening to this shit is like being shot in the head with a bullet from hell. its aggressive, take-no prisoners music that gets better the more you listen to it. with its pounding drums, distincitve tunes, guitarwork that ranges from bluesy to metallic, and singer/bassist Lemmy's trademark, this album is rock at its best, and nothing will ever change that. CLASSIC.Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here4.5 superbMastodon LeviathanThe Casualties Under Attackin a time when the punk scene is mostly poser emo/screamo/whatever bands that care more about making a quick buck than actually saying something, The Casualties are one of the few bands who keep the spirit of what punk/HC once was alive. they represent everything that punk/HC used to be; aggressive, in your face, middle finger raised against the rest of the world. they represent a time when the punk/HC scene was about unity, about kids who were different coming together to celebrate what made them that way and venting their anger through their music. with superfast, blast beats, guttural vox, and angry politcal lyrics, The Casualties are one of the best old-school punk bands around today, hands down, and their newest album, "Under Attack" is proof. its got some of the best genre songs to come along in a long time (especially "Social Outcast" and the title track); definatly an important album for punk/HC.The Mars Volta Amputechture4.0 excellentBlack Sabbath Master of Realitynot Sabbaths best album (that's "Paranoid") but it does have their best song, "Sweet Leaf" plus some other Sab classics ("Children of the Grave", "Into the Void"). definatly for Sabbath fans and a good starting point for people who haven't heard any of their stuff before.Misfits Walk Among UsPink Floyd The WallTenacious D The Pick of DestinyThe Flaming Lips At War with the Mystics3.5 greatAlice in Chains Jar Of FliesBad Brains Bad BrainsBlack Flag DamagedClutch Robot Hive / ExodusClutch From Beale Street To OblivionLed Zeppelin Led Zeppelin IVRage Against the Machine The Battle of Los AngelesTiger Army Music From Regions Beyond3.0 goodPantera Cowboys from HellSymphony X Paradise LostThe Dresden Dolls The Dresden Dolls2.5 averageMetallica Metallicai don't know why people think this is Metallica's best album; it only has one really good song ("Enter Sandman"), about four or five songs that seriously suck (expecially "nothing else matters") and generaly doesn't have the same punch the older Metallica albums did; its all dull and.....well, commercialized. more like a crappy mainstream rock album than a metallica album. WAAAY overratedStrapping Young Lad The New Blackinteresting...... i'm not too big on the whole death metal thing, but this album had some nice touches, and some interesting stuff.......plus, they're decent musicians. and any album that has a song featuring guest vocals by oderus urungus can't be all bad....1.5 very poorSlayer Christ Illusion1.0 awfulLamb of God Sacrament
