Walls of Jericho deliver a sub par metalcore release, worthy of the bargain bit at your local music store. The song writing is formulaic and repetitive and the vocals are cringe worthy. WOJ’ fail to utilize the supposed prowess of their female vocalist and thus sound as generic as their counterparts. Despite this they manage to retain a hardcore edge not seen by the likes of mainstream acts such as KSE, As I Lay Dying &c &c (Metalcore? Where exactly is the core’). There are few memorable moments but some fun breakdowns, though don’t get me wrong, the breakdowns aren’t memorable either. Roundhouse kick this one out ya window! |
