The Crusade, although it lacks any innovative and fresh material, is still a good album. "Tread The Floods" is the unexpected highlight for me. The riffs are solid and chunky, and they interchange melodic moments and screaming verses very smoothly. The production is great, and no matter what people say, it's a good album. The one flaw is the length of the songs, as many listeners will lose interest after four or five minutes. Some good ideas, but left to run on too long, although nevertheless Trivium show the reason why they're widely renowned as the best new metal band in the world.
