5.0 classic
Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin IV
Nirvana In Utero
This album was Nirvana's finest hour, an album that dared to not adhere to a formula and become Nevermind MkII. Not one song on this album would look out of place on the Nirvana Greatest Hits Album. Except maybe Tourettes.
Pixies Surfer Rosa

4.5 superb
Alice in Chains Dirt
Dinosaur Jr. You're Living All Over Me
Husker Du Zen Arcade
Husker Du New Day Rising
Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin II
Meat Puppets Meat Puppets II
Nirvana MTV Unplugged in New York
This album is the nirvana album that showed once and for all what Kurt Cobain had said was true,"we are not a grunge band". If anything this album shows them to be spooked americana, this album was obviously made more poignant after Cobains' death and when you listen to it sounds like an audio confessional, a prefix to the suicide note he would leave 6 months later. Each song is a gem and the album further concretes their place in rock history.
Nirvana Nevermind
This album has had a profound effect on not just music culture but teen culture since it's release in 1991. This album was a zeitgeist of the time not through media hype but the sheer brilliance of the songs and the way that the band piut the message across that you didn't needa to be a hair metal band to get on MTV, you just needed to release a fantastic album. Nevermind did just that.
Nirvana Live! Tonight! Sold Out!!
This DVD/Video/Whatever showed just how great a live band Nirvana were. It may not have been slick, pretty or healthy but Nirvana Concerts were the greatest (and the worst at times). This encapsulates the best of them very well indeed. 4.5/5

4.0 excellent
Bad Brains Rock For Light
Bad Brains I Against I
Black Flag Damaged
Black Sabbath Paranoid
Dinosaur Jr. Bug
Dinosaur Jr. Ear-Bleeding Country
I bought this album in a bargain bin in HMV not to long ago and it blew me away. Dinosaur Jr. were a great band and a band that were a greatly underrated pre-courser to 90's alt-rock as much as the Pixies were. This is why i think this is such a great album. Although, I'm not to keen on J.Masiscs later work, Dinosaur Jr. need to be in your record collection. My favourite is Lttle Fury Things.
Fugazi 13 Songs
Hole Live Through This
Cool album that shows that Courtney Love is not just a rockstar's wife but is also a musician in her own right.
Violet is my top pick. 4/5
Husker Du Candy Apple Grey
Husker Du Warehouse: Songs and Stories
Iron Maiden The Number of the Beast
Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin
Melvins Houdini
Melvins are one of the most underrated bands of all time. They thrilled a young Kurt Cobain and even in this album you can see why. Teet and Copache are cool but the best track must be Hooch or Lizzy. This album gets a 4 from me, i usually hate 100% of metal bands but Melvins are great. Bullhead is another great album.
