But hey, you can only improve after songs such as "All the Small Things" and the like. No filler songs, which is really impressive (but definitely not the album you want to hear after a break-up). Stockholm Syndrome, I Miss You, All of This, and Obvious are superb. "I'm Lost Without You" is a bit long-winded, but thankfully, listening to it is always optional.Incubus (USA-CA) A Crow Left of the Murder...Linkin Park Hybrid TheoryGreat album, one of my favorites as a kid, but it's been all downhill from here for Linkin Park. All of the convoluted genre arrangements throughout the album actually worked. Papercut, Forgotten, and A Place For My Head are my favorite tracks. Personally, One Step Closer becomes more intolerable each time I hear it.Red Hot Chili Peppers CalifornicationRed Hot Chili Peppers Greatest HitsTaking Back Sunday Where You Want To BeI don't like anything else about TBS other than this album. And I like this album a lot. Damn solid. There isn't a single track that makes me say, "Whoa, what the crap is this doing here?" It does weaken a little as the disc goes on, but they don't take a plunge, so it's still listenable. Gotta love "A Decade...", "Set Phasers...", and "This Photograph..."3.5 greatBlindside About A Burning FireChevelle This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In)Incubus (USA-CA) Make YourselfIncubus (USA-CA) S.C.I.E.N.C.E.Incubus (USA-CA) Light GrenadesIt's a listenable album, I'll give it that. But Brandon continutes to sing out of his range, and the lyrics are just so-so. But Mike, Incubus' only remaining talent, and his guitar mastery is what keeps Light Grenades from being a total bust. And to be fair, Ben's bass playing has improved. This is one of those albums that takes a few listens to know how you really feel. Overall, I'm disappointed, but still entertained. I recommend Dig, Rouges, Paper Shoes, and Pendulous Threads. I'm not a fan of Earth to Bella (I and II) or Love Hurts. I say give it a listen.Senses Fail Let It Enfold YouSystem of a Down System of a DownSystem of a Down Steal This Album!System of a Down ToxicitySystem of a Down MezmerizeThree Days Grace One-XA very solid album. Granted, there's nothing as powerful as "(I Hate) Everything About You" or "Just Like You," but at least all One-X "non-singles" don't suck massively like on their first album. The only song I can't stand is "Riot." And, yes, there really is nothing special about this band, but it's good generic listening. "It's All Over" and "Let It Die" are my top picks.3.0 goodIncubus (USA-CA) Alive at Red RocksNirvana NirvanaRed Hot Chili Peppers Stadium ArcadiumRooney RooneyThe Offspring Greatest HitsAmericana was my first ever album (on tape, to top it off), so, 8 years later, I had to pick this up. But I have to agree with all the nay-sayers: this is just a money pump. We seem to forget that the term "Greatest Hits" does not mean best songs. They're all singles (and is still missing a chunk of them). C'mon, I owned only 1 ablum of theirs and still somehow managed to hear every track on this disc via MTV or radio before even picking it up. The pre-America tracks are still gems, the best being "Gone Away," and I'll give "Defy You" some props. On the DVD side, the studio acoustic of "Dirty Magic" is a great song (should just be on the damn CD). But the 'they-were-cool-in-Jr. High' tracks (the Americana tracks) do not refect The Offspring accurately, or positively. Even "Have You Ever" was a better song than all of those. The absence of "Million Miles Away" bothers me, as the space was filled by 2 "yeah, ok" Conspiracy of One tracks. "Hit That" is my guilty pleasure... If you want a real Greatest Hits album, you'll have to splice pieces your albums and burn your own, 'cause this isn't it.2.5 averageA Perfect Circle Mer de NomsCrossfade CrossfadeThis album really bothers me. I either really dig the track (Colors, The Unknown, So Far Away) or have to skip over them before my ears bleed (Starless, Death Trend Setta, Disco). Its inconsistanty ruins any bright spots. Don't waste your 10 bucks at WalMart for this disc.Eminem EncoreThree Days Grace Three Days GraceLet's see. I've got "(I Hate)..." and "Just Like You," even "Take Me Under" as pretty good tracks. The rest is close to pure crap Don't buy this. I haven't put this disc in my player in over a year. Use the money for KFC, or somethin'. It's not only generic, but it reminds me of nails on a chalkboard. Or having a girl tell you she wants to be friends. But not quite as bad as having your best friend's Mormon mom have the police hunt you down at 3am for alleged "public drunkeness (is that right?) of a minor" while she has sex with her "friend" (also a Mormon woman) before crushing your freind's hand in the door for drinking in her house, then calls your mother the next day to "tell her what's really going on" even though you had driven yourself home while you were "piss drunk." But it's close.2.0 poorSystem of a Down Hypnotize1.0 awfulA Perfect Circle eMOTIVeThe only songs I like off this are Gimmie, and Annihilation. Passive and Imagine are so-so. So why give it a one? Because all the rest were unlistenable. Absolutely the worst album I own. Why does APC only put effort into about 3 songs on every record? They beef up their singles and piss together everything else. They didn't even go out with a bang. They fizzled.
