Live Throwing Copper
Live. Interesting name...interesting band. A band that come out of the post grunge genre that deliveres one heck of a blow with their album "Throwing Copper". After listening to "Throwing Copper" you can not help but push play one more time. With classics like "Lightning Crashes" and "I Alone" to the hidden gems- "The Dam At Otter Creek" and "Iris", this album proves to be Live's best, and one of my personal favorites. Live hit the nail on the head with this album-Classic Album-5.
Neutral Milk Hotel In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
I like to sometimes think this album as one giant run-on sentence that somehow works very well. The music is beautifully different and hooks you from the get-go. Classic album-5
Nirvana In Utero
In Utero is on hell of an album. its that simply put. Dave Grohl is right on with the drums while Krist rips the bass to fricken shreds the whole album. Then there is Kurt Cobain, who so painfully sings and plays his guitar but does it with flawless emotion. The passion in In Utero surpasses most albums ever made. Incredible album.
Queens of the Stone Age Songs for the Deaf
Before every song on this album there is a few brief moments where the radio is being tuned to a different station, and it happens to be every song on every is Queens of the Ston Age. Oh how I wish that were true. Songs for the Deaf moves from some serious death metal to grunge. Classic Album-5
Tool Lateralus
Lateralus...WOW. This Mind numbing, entrancing, and beautiful album is Tool's third full length cd that absolutley blows other albums out of the water-puts them to shame. Lateralus has come and gone and left everyone else in the wake. Tool decided to take a step to the left from their previous work while taking 5 steps ahead. Amazing drumming on this album hypnotizes you while the bass rumbles your gut and the guitar shakes your bones, all this happening while being seduced by Maynard's haunting yet familiar lyrics. Get this album, you will never regret it. Also be sure to check out the HDCD goodness the album offers. Classic Album-5.
4.5 superb
A Perfect Circle Thirteenth Step
Thirteenth step by A Perfect Circle is all about range/diversty and maybe even the feel of raw power. Maynard has haunting lyrics and vocals like always. Some songs are down to earth lovely, like an enya ethereal sound. Some songs have the feeling of "shut the eff up and give me what i want." Thirteenth step is an all around amazing album.
Alice in Chains MTV Unplugged
Alice in Chains Dirt
If anything is grunge its Alice in Chains. If any album is grunge, is Dirt. The name says it all it really does. This album is so nasty and raw, its awesome. Dirt, even while being insanley nasty, can even have, simply put, beautiful songs. Jerry Cantrells guitarwork is excellent while Layne's vocals are eery yet very good. superb album.
Ben Folds Rockin' The Suburbs
Ben Folds is the man. After disbanding Ben Folds Five, he started alone with this album-"Rockin The Suburbs". Ben Folds proves to be an amazing piano player while alos proving he is a strongly developed songwriter. His songs are somewhat quirky and entertaining and the songs that are not upbeat, are very, veyr beautiful. In his last track "The Luckiest" he acheives in describing that undescribable feeling-love. Beauitufl Album.
Ben Folds Five Whatever and Ever, Amen
Described by Ben Folds himself as "punk rock for pussies." The fusion of punk rock and piano leads to this interesting combination yet brilliant abd quirky album, Whatever and Ever, Amen.
Black Sabbath Paranoid
Paranoid is heavy, tedious, tiresome and drowning. BlackSabbath is at the peak of their sound with this hell of an album. Ozzy never sounded better than this.
