Trivium The Crusade
I dont know why everyone is saying The Crusade is "Mediocre" and "a horrible letdown." I love Trivium and i think Ascendancy is an amazing album, and even though Matt Heafy ditched the screaming that i was so fond of, The Crusade contains some really great songs. Anthem (We are the Fire) is a great song and most people just know Matt Heafy doesnt scream and they make up thier mind about the album before even listening to it.
Even though i really liked this album, it's not the next Master of Puppets. Too many of the songs sound alike and The Crusade is too repetative and i usually lose intrest around the 4:30 mark. Matt Heafy sounds a little too much like his idol, James Hetfield, which isnt a bad thing, but isn't original either. And i really never picked up on this until my friend, Andrew, mentioned it, but the opening riff from Unrependant sounds wayyy too much like Metallica's Through the Never.
Overall, i really liked half of the album and it's only about $10 so give Trivium a try.
The Crusade (3.5/5)
