3.0 good
Pink Floyd Atom Heart Mother
Roger Waters once called this album "Pure Rubish", and David Gilmour once expressed a wish that this album never be listened to again. Wow! If an album gets such harsh from its creators than it must be ear poison!
Well, not quite. While the neverending title track that takes 20 minutes to go nowhere and Alans Psychedelic Breakfast that is a novelty song that long overstays its welcome certantly qualify as rubish the middle three tracks are actually quite good. If is a very simple acoustic piece by Roger Waters, which as usual means brilliant lyrics. Summer '68 is probobly the best song the Richard Wright ever wrote. Gilmours Fat Old Sun is a very enjoyable and relaxing little piece. While this is definatly not worthy to stand among the floyd classics (Do I need to name them?) but it is certantly not their worst *cough*Ummagumma*cough* By the way the fact that they went from this to Meddle in one year is just mindblowing.
