Travis Shettel produces a range of sarcastic and almost comical lyrics. However he also knows when to tone down, and become a little more serious. American hearts is the stand out song for me on the album and fear and loathing on cape cod is a wonderfully constructed track consisting of piano, acoustic melodies, and then upbeat, poppy guitar. This album was in the running for the mercury prize award and it's very creative and exciting . Although quite a poppy and sometimes unusual album, 'we can create' and the band as a whole provide an easy listening experience. James Chapman started this band when he only had a sixteen track recorder and now i think their latest release has shown how far he has come with his music. I think he's constructed his songwriting and the structures for indivual songs really well. I saw them live at reading and all the abstract sounds from the album were somehow created on stage. My cousin is also in the live band as a drummer so in a sense im quite biased. My only critism is that the album isn't very well put together a few different songs which don't really combine with each other.
