crazy guitar licks and feedback is the name of the game and i love it. lee puts it down well in this album. most don't hear his guitar b/c it fades in with the rest of the music so well. the bends that him and thurston play sound great especially during solos. truely amazing songwriting as well. the drumming fills are so great that they tend to pull me away from listening to the real music. kim has always played miminal bass lines but with those two great guitarists i don't think anyone minds..."disappearer" and "mary-christ" are def stand-out tracks.
Weezer Pinkerton
def one of my favorite albums of all time, true talent of songwriting is displayed here. it disappoints me that this is their last album with matt sharp and the last gem they may ever produce. i've listened to this album over a hundred times and it still hasn't gotten old. the only scratch, as i will call it, on this is the lyrics for getchoo. don't display rivers' message as well as the other lyrics; the rest are flawless

Dinosaur Jr. You're Living All Over Me
Franz Ferdinand You Could Have It So Much Better
wow i like every song on this album. i agree with lyrics of "this boy": "one kick's as good as another" (although we aren't referring to the same thing) hard to find any dents but if you look hard enough you find a few minor points. "you could have it so much better" lacked the originality of its' predessor but i don't fault franz too hard for that. they kicked it up a notch and it was fairly difficult to call this the better of the two. the songs do run-together a little in the sense that some of the songs sound similair to others but the list of favorites is way too long to list.

i'm tired of hearing "there are going to be only a few singles on this album". up until uncle johnny, every song is very solid. hits you on both sides unexpectedley. the 2nd half of this album was alot better than the last time around. "hot fuss" was a half remarkable album. the talent was there but it was just a foul ball. the killers connected with the listener better with pop songs like "bones" and meaningful ballads like "my list". i hate when people automatically tune out to slower killers songs. they may start out dull but they are def more than listenable. the bass was toned down in this album but they guitar more than makes up for it. i wish they would record with the guitar being the focal point rather than the good bass. this is going to be one of my favorites for a long time

4.0 excellent
Arctic Monkeys Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
Coldplay A Rush of Blood to the Head
Franz Ferdinand Franz Ferdinand
most of these songs have been out for a while and this album is a perfect example of what bands can produce after a few years of good songwriting. the album as a whole is always a pleasure to listen to. everytime i listen i realized how special and how unique franz ferdinand is. everyone loves a dose of brit pop now and then. i really have no problems with this album. every song is original and each song sounds different. the only reason this album isn't superb is that not every song is in your face "AWESOME!". i'm not saying that is what i'm looking for but i give credit to franz for making the album a real careful listen. after plently of review i realize that appeal of songs fluctuate up and down over time.

Weezer Weezer
there are some great songs on here and this album is near the top of weezer's best. the only track that is the least bit apathetic to me is "the world has turned and left me here". not even that bad of a song it just sounds too similar some of the other songs. other than that nearly every song is special in its own way. the songs don't get too old over time and it's a great album to blow the dust off of.
Weezer Make Believe
although this album is significantly different than any other weezer album it is highly underrated it seems. i didn't even know you could give an album a half star. and i've seen the remake of "the longest yard" and this album is def not the chris rock of all the others. it is way more imaginative than the green album was. brian bell is back to having a supporting guitar line throughout most of the songs. although at times his guitar should be turned up. it adds alot to the music. as weezer fans we will never be able to get over rivers' love for block chords but at least the other guitars make his songs enjoyable. pat wilson never impressed me with his miminal drum beats that i could play after picking up sticks less than a dozen times. in short, pat knows better and could do better...to end on a good note, only few songs on this album are less than remarkable

3.5 great
Grateful Dead American Beauty
Modest Mouse Good News for People Who Love Bad News
Primus Pork Soda
Sebadoh Bakesale
Sonic Youth Murray Street
The Beatles Abbey Road
The Killers Hot Fuss
this album hits me in halves. i'm not dissapointed with the the 2nd half but it just wasn't anything amazing. the first half however was immense. it's getting harder and harder to like the chart-topping singles but "mr.brightside" was just shortly wounded by that bullet. annoying when that's the only song people have heard of the killers. i wouldn't say it is a very good example of the killers. the 2nd half felt kinda depressing just by the tone. "andy you're a star" really saves itself on the chorus. "midnight show" really should be the album closer if the killers wanted a chilling but beautiful end great strings work, flowers.. i would say that kind of ending would have been more effective than a ballad. I like "everything will be alright" but it seems to kinda drag along but hey great drum/tambourine work, i'll take it for an album closer. i love the creative bass, that's a finer point of the killers. really every musician is talented in the killers and have good chemistry with one another.

Pink Floyd The Wall
Red Hot Chili Peppers Blood Sugar Sex Magik
Sonic Youth Confusion Is Sex
Spoon Kill the Moonlight
The Beatles Revolver
The Beatles Let It Be
Weezer Maladroit
i've got to say that this album really flew under the radar of mainstream music. a real downer so to say for a band that didn't deserve it this time around. there are some good catchy songs that only the owner would notice. only dope nose and keep fishin' were singles. the songs stay for the most part cosistent to the 12th track. fillers like "space rock", "slave" and "possibilities" were better off ripped from the drawing board. why make an alright album of 13 songs than an excellent album of 10 like they are used to. "possiblilities" is very fickle to me. why do bands like to put 2 min songs that are just really fast late in an album. (2 other ex:"Nic Fit-Sonic Youth and Broken Face-Pixies)
Weezer The Green Album

2.5 average
Green Day American Idiot
It's funny how as time progessed, ratings for this album went all over the board. i have to admit that when i first heard this album i thought it was excellent. some music will grow on you and when it finally soaks in, you can't listen to anything else but this album is a perfect example of how it can bore you after listening to it after a while. this is different punk from billie's older stuff. this is corny political punk. the music really wasn't anything special. i fault billie the most. mike and tre didn't add too much more to the music but it's too bad that green day will put out another one of these public-embraced albums that true fans cringe at the sight.
