Cohen was amazing for writing it, but he never produced the genuine feeling that Jeff did. He took it to another level. Simply a gorgeous album all told. Eternal Life always throws me for a loop when I hear it just for how upfront the bassline is for this album. Currently I'm liking this more than Dirt, but that may just be a result of wearing out 2 cd's and buying more. I've burned out on that a bit, yet this stays fresh to me for some reason. I think the vocal harmonies make this so good for me. Jerry Cantrell is often underrated for his contributions vocally, and they shine through on Grind and Over Now. Aside from the slightly schizophrenic Facelift, this I believe shows the full range of what the band was capable of.
