5.0 classic
Nile Annihilation of the Wicked
The Black Dahlia Murder Unhallowed
Never heard of these guys untill I went to see a show with Remembering Never and Shadows Fall, and was awe-struck by an incredible show-stealing performance. They quickly became, and remain my favorite band (a big hell yeah to UnskathedGuitar). I love this album, and although different from Miasma, is no better or worse (well, I could venture to say the vocals sound better on this one, but the drumming is better on Miasma). Favorite track is Blackest Incarnation. I've seen them live 4 times, and have never been dissapointed. I can't wait for a new album with their new percussionist and human drum machine, Pierre.
The Black Dahlia Murder Miasma

4.5 superb
Behemoth The Apostasy
Gojira The Link
Great album, a bit more aggressive than From Mars to Sirius. Personally I prefer the band's first two albums to the third, as they don't seem to drag the song out like From Mars could do from time to time. A much more lively and energetic release from this band. Don't get me wrong, I love everything thing this band has released, I just like this one a bit better.
Gorod Leading Vision
this album really caught me off guard. neurotrip was decent, but it never really grabbed my attention. two spins of leading vision and i'm hooked. every instrumental element is performed with the utmost of expertise, and finess. each song has its own personality, developing a diverse album that never gets old or repetitive. this reason i didn't give this a 5 is because i haven't had it long enough to see if it ccan pass the replay test. i try to get my friends who don't listen to any death metal at all to check this album out, as i can't see how anyone couldn't appreciate such a masterfully orchestrated "technical" death metal phenomenon. seriously.
Neuraxis Trilateral Progression

Psycroptic Symbols of Failure

4.0 excellent
Anata The Conductor's Departure
Gojira From Mars to Sirius
This is a great album. Anyone who is looking for something different, as well as anyone who can appreciate great metal should check them out. I can't think of anyone to compare them too, maybe slightly (and please don't take this the wrong way) but slighty Mastodon-like with the vocals, mainly in the sense that he can really sing his growls. Perhaps a comparison to Phil Anselmo could even fit. As for the music, well, just check them out. The only reason I didn't rate this higher is because it is a long album with some long songs, and I get a little A.D.D. with some of the tracks. Regardless, this album is awesome, and a must own for the true metal-head.
Check out Backbone, In the Wilderness, and From the Sky

All Shall Perish The Price of Existence
Behemoth Zos Kia Cultus (Here and Beyond)
Decrepit Birth ...And Time Begins
Brutal death metal delivered at hyper-speed thanks to Tim Yeung's relentless jackhammering. A great release, the fastest metal I can name.
Necrophagist Epitaph
Nights Like These The Faithless
Origin Echoes of Decimation
Prayer for Cleansing Rain In Endless Fall
The Showdown A Chorus of Obliteration

3.0 good
Animosity Shut It Down
August Burns Red Thrill Seeker
Behemoth Demigod
Beneath the Massacre Evidence Of Inequity
When I first heard this album I was stunned, but the more I played it the less impact it had. Love the drumming, over-triggered as it may be. Still a good album, about as brutal as they come.
Cannae Gold Becomes Sacrifice
I thought this was a pretty good album, although nothing spectacular. It was a definite step forward for the band, with a couple very memorable tracks. If they continue in the direction they are going, the next album could be the one to bring them the recognition they are working hard to acheive. I would recommend this to the avid metalhead in search of new bands to expand their collection.
Killwhitneydead So Pretty So Plastic
This band has a very interesting history. Originally created as a studio only band by one man under alias names. The popularity of the first album brought upon 2 more, and eventually demanded that the band go on tour. The term band is used very loosely, as the whole project is the creation of vocalist Matt Tribunal (owner of Tribunal Records and BB's Compact Disc, which is the best place in my area to buy metal albums). KillWhitneyDead are great band for people who can have a little fun with their metal, and they put on a great show. I think the movie samples are just a bit excessive, but its still a good album. However, I would have to say that the previous 2 releases were better
Remembering Never She Looks So Good In Red
As a whole, this album isn't much to rave about. However, I believe my purchase was justified by the first 4 tracks alone. Those tracks are pretty much all that gets played in my radio, and I think they are freakin awesome. Unfortunately, the albums kind of fades out after them.
Through the Eyes of the Dead The Scars of Ages
This was pretty entertaining; a few movie samples, decent guitar work, and one hell of a drummer showcasing the entire effort. The biggest hindrance are the vocals, which for me really hold them back. All in all I thought this worth the purchase. Sadly, when the drummer was replaced, all of the bands appeal diminished. The full-length was a real dissapointment.

2.5 average
Chimaira Chimaira
Lamb of God Ashes of the Wake
Origin Origin
Otep Sevas Tra

2.0 poor
It Dies Today The Caitiff Choir

1.0 awful
The Showdown Temptation Come My Way
what the hell happened? they went in the complete opposite direction with an album that sounds like made-for-radio pop-rock garbage. A Chorus of Obliteration is one of the better albums in my collection, but this new album doesn't even sound like the same band. I can hardly believe the extreme turn for the worse from this band that this album signifies.
