Even if you don't like his music, his sense of song compostion is impeccable. Anyone who denies this needs to take a music appreciation class. His latest, Super Colossal, is not his greatest. I believe that would still be Surfing. But, having said that, it does have some great tunes, namely "Made with Tears" and "Ten Words". Oh Yeah, Satch is a better player than Vai for song compostion and tone. I'm not disrespecting Vai though, his latest "Real Illusions" may be his best since Passion.
