It has the raw funk rock of the early days and the lighter stuff like on californication. It is also more coherent, most likely due to the best production and sound quality heard yet an a peppers album. (courtesy of famed producer rick rubin) Johns best work is heard on this one too, as you will hear him explore funk, blues, and rock like a new age hendrix. For the chili peppers at their peak you must look no further than BSSM.SikTh The Trees Are Dead and Dried Out, Wait for Something WildThe Clash London CallingThe Clash The Clash (US version)The Clash The ClashTool Ænima4.5 superbA Perfect Circle Thirteenth StepLamb of God Ashes of the WakeOperation Ivy EnergyAn absolute classic of the ska+punk genre. It has real punk rock feel to it as opposed to all of their followers. And the ska of this band is a blueprint of all the bands who where the future of this genre. The lyrics are even quite intelligent for a bunch of punk rock kids. From the raw punk to some of the best ska around this album delivers it all.Red Hot Chili Peppers Freaky StyleyRed Hot Chili Peppers The Uplift Mofo Party PlanRed Hot Chili Peppers Off the MapSikTh Death of a Dead DayThe Clash Give 'Em Enough RopeThe White Stripes ElephantTool Lateralus4.0 excellentA Perfect Circle Mer de NomsLamb of God As the Palaces BurnMinus the Bear Highly Refined PiratesMinus the bear is a very solid band. You get the feeling that these are 5 really good friends doing wahat they love to to do, play great and original music. This was a very mellow cd, yet the band members are quite talented. Youll hear finger tapping like its a van halen cd and clever lyrics mostly about, well, drinking and spending time with your buds. This is easily their most straight forward and coherent cd, but quite possibly the best. Mudvayne L.D. 50This cd got me interested in playing bass. Now im addicted to it. This has good songwriting and a raw feel that their future albums lacked. It completely destroys the nu-metal genre as well. thanks to ryan martinie for the bass ideas alsoRed Hot Chili Peppers By the WayRed Hot Chili Peppers CalifornicationRed Hot Chili Peppers Mother's MilkRed Hot Chili Peppers The Red Hot Chili PeppersThe White Stripes Get Behind Me SatanTool UndertowTool OpiateTool 10,000 Days3.5 greatLostprophets The Fake Sound Of ProgressRed Hot Chili Peppers Greatest HitsRed Hot Chili Peppers Stadium Arcadium3.0 goodDisturbed The SicknessRed Hot Chili Peppers One Hot Minute2.5 averageBowling for Soup A Hangover You Don't DeservePanic! at the Disco A Fever You Can't Sweat Out2.0 poorAshlee Simpson I Am MeBowling for Soup Drunk Enough To DanceDisturbed BelieveHawthorne Heights If Only You Were LonelyLostprophets Start SomethingLostprophets Liberation TransmissionParis Hilton ParisParis Hiltons disgustingly self indulgent debut, appropriately titled Paris, is a disgrace to music itself. Her lyrics are a reflection of her wonderful personality, and range from how great she is to how hot she is, and apparently "SHE IS HOT", very hot. Her singing is void of any life or passion proving that she has no soul. But there is an upside, the music is actually pretty good compared to the standard pop, if you can get over her voice and lyrics. But considering that doing that would completley erase her from her cd, this is a poor album and sad day in the history of music.
