The last album of the "Glam" Pantera. Personally, my favorite albums of theirs come from before Cowboys From Hell, which is usually the opposite of other people. This was the first cd with Phil Anselmo, who replaced Terrence Lee and back when "Dimebag" was referred to as "Diamond".
The sound of 'Power Metal' is much different than their later albums. This album had a noticeable 80's heavy metal sound, kind of a mixture between Motley Crue, Ratt, and a bit of Judas Priest. Back then, Phil hit high-notes just as well as Rob Halford did. |
