Annuals Be He Me
This album has become one of my favorite indie albums ever. Their product is gentle at times and also powerful collaborations. They mix in unique style of their own that is like no one else's I've heard. The vocals have a light presence and a heavy melodic up bringing. The music is beautiful using piano in many cases to subdue strong rhythmic drumming. The creativeness of Animal Collective meets the radio playability and pop of the Shins.

Every Broken Social Scene fan should have this in their library. This may take a little warming up to but it is just as amazing as the BSS albums. Kevin Drew exploits his style throughout. That is the resemblance of songs like Cause = Time and Stars and Sons from You Forgot it in People.
Favorites: Frightening Lives, Gang Bang Suicide, Bodhi Sappy Weekend, TBtF actually all of them so f*ck it.

This album has it's moments. Shining On could possibly be the best ska song so far this year. But to me it seems like some of the songs were rushed leaving some very uncreative results. The dub echo effect is fine on a couple songs but gets over used and looses its desire. Overall a handful of solid ska songs mixed with really bland fillers.

This album takes back the Turn Off The Radio days but it also takes back the Cheer Up days. Some great songs mixed with bland guitar driven "this does nothing for me" songs. Cutting it down to 13 tracks would be my preference. I know they are talented (and their live show is to boot) but a little more creativity on the next album RBF and you will have a winner again.
