Company Of Thieves Running From A Gamble
Holy crap! This album completely took me by surprise. Their first album was decent, but Company of Thieves just plain nails it here. It's everything one could want from a second album: it builds upon the sound of their first one while introducing many new styles. King of Dreams has a tense, bluesy funk feel that just wraps you up in it and doesn't let you go. Tellulah incorporates lively, almost motown-like horns. Gorgeous/Grotesque is one of the most filthy blues songs I've heard in some time (and I mean that in a good way). Look Both Ways has a chorus that's just unbearably catchy. Overall a fantastic listen that I'd recommend to anyone who likes rock in general. Every song is good!

These guys do the back and forth vocals thing better than anyone right now. Closer listens reveal there is a lot of talent going into this. Rarely do they follow conventional song structures, and more often than not the second verse is where their open mindedness shines brightest. This helps keep songs fresh on repeated listens. Highly recommended.

Yes Keystudio
Yes comes around with their most inspired and consistent album since Going For the One, complete with epics, fantastic playing, some simply moving numbers, a cool concept, and the classic Yes lineup (Anderson, Squire, Howe, Wakeman, White). This proves that they haven't lost their touch, and will leave you wondering why they can't put out this kind of material more often anymore. This also should have been how the Keys to Ascension albums were put out, as these songs kind of got lost in there. If only they released this as Keys to Ascension and released a different album full of the live material on there, things would probably have turned out for the better.
