| This cd is a must for '08. I was thinking that they couldn't top Dismanting Devotion but this is better. I love the vibe surrounding the record. Very dark, melodic, emotive, beautiful, etc. Songs like cathedral, last alone, a portrait in white and Descending are just future classics. I recommand this for fans of Katatonia, Opeth and melodic doom metal in general. |

This album is a fantastic musical experiance. Novembre is probably the best metal band around today. They match Death, doom, progressive, gothic, atmospheric and melodic metal with a bit of acoustic like opeth does. Materia is the best album of 06' so far. The sound is amazing. The voice of the singer is insane. He sing with an amazing clean voice to a high pitch death metal voice. The songs are very progressive but not so long in opposition to Opeth 12 minutes+ epic adventure. The lyrics are written in two language: English and Italian.

This album is the first I've hear from this band. I must say I'm proud to have paid only 5$ for it at CM. This is a must have for Dark Metal fans. Imagine the early sound of Katatonia and Opeth together with Wilberg at vocals. This is just incredible. The songs are really melodic and it reminds me of Insomnium at certain level.
Tracks like Raintrack, Gallows and The Vast are stunning.I really suggest this album for dark metal fans. |
