| This is my introduction to Sarah Fimm, and I must admit I was not expecting such well crafted material, at this volume, at this price (which is absolutely nothing). Sarah has compiled a large assortment of her discography while including previously unreleased songs and it's simply mind boggling that she would be willing to give it away for free. A lot of her work prescribes to the theory of 'less is more' and what brilliant results it nets. Her music is smooth, flowing and dream-like, built by sombre piano, haunting strings and guitar, and the talented, mellifluous voice of Sarah Fimm herself. Tracks such as 'Afraid', 'Orchids' and 'Lavender's Blue' are fantastic examples, while songs such as 'Sing' showcase a bouncier, vibrant theme with the sunny strumming of guitar. A real gem, and unbelievably, it's free! There's no reason not to try it. |
