Admittedly, I have only heard four of the seven tracks on offer, as I would like to wait until release day to hear the whole thing. However, from what I've heard, this could be the ultimate Mastodon album.
From the rather startling vocal changes in "Oblivion" to the underlying crunch of "Crack The Skye", to the ethereal guitar notes that resemble "Pendulous Skin" in "Ghost of Karelia", it's an album of ambition, and may bring them closer to Pink Floyd than ever before. |
