When I was given this album (burnt, yes I am a despicable human), I listened to the first 4 songs on the short drive home and immediately logged on and purchased the digital album.
It was so good that I felt I had to buy it.
They've clearly put alot of work into this album, as some songs are literally physically and mentally demanding to LISTEN to. Such is the amount of activity going on in every song.
5/5 and my favourite for '07
Fightstar They Liked You Better When You Were Dead
Karnivool Themata

Fightstar Grand Unification
I only heard about this band in passing, hearing 'Paint Your Target' on commercial radio only once as a taster.
I found the only copy of this album in my local music store and approached it with apprehension, as the idea of a boy-band lead singer didn't really grab me. However, Fightstar are perhaps the biggest surprise I have ever encountered, and they are very close to one of my favourite bands. Not because I am a scene queen dandy, but because I can appreciate their talents as songwriters and above all, talented musicians. Omar's drumming is simply stunning, providing backing to Charlie and Alex's fantastic dual vocals. The basswork is amazing also, with octave jumps a plenty.
Sleep Well Tonight and Lost Like Tears in the Rain are my favourites here. Who would have thought someone from Busted could be so great and form potentially one of the most talented bands doing the rounds at the moment.
A must for fans of Funeral for a Friend, lostprophets, and even BFMV.
Fightstar One Day Son This Will All Be Yours
Haste the Day Pressure the Hinges
Karnivool Sound Awake
Lostprophets Start Something
Muse Absolution

What an album. The potential in these guys to develop into a ockerock powerhouse is undeniable. Another feather in the Boomtown cap.

4.0 excellent
AFI Sing the Sorrow
Behind Crimson Eyes A Revelation For Despair
Faultless? No. Surprising? In good and bad ways...
Alot more polished than the multiple EP's they released, this album shows the start of a new direction for Aus punk, and should be the measure-stick for which that is measured.
Mammal Vol 1: The Aural Underground

See these guys live, then listen to the album, then smile.
I certainly couldn't write this kind of music.

Good single in 'Snakeskin,' however, the rest is pretentious and over the top.
Another victim to the growing commercial music scene is Australia unfortunately.
Panic! at the Disco Pretty. Odd.
Shihad Beautiful Machine
Oh my God. What happened!? This album is a blatant disappointment. I'll still be front row for their national tour later this month, but my oh my. It's so upsettingt that this album was release as a follow up to LITNH.

2.0 poor
Faker Be The Twilight
Truly average follow up to a good previous album. Live show is uninspired and album is just plain dishwater.
