Great mixtape. Lyrically Lupe still has it and production wise we see that he's experimenting more with electronica and trying to fuse it with hip-hop.
Muse Origin of Symmetry
Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Old Money
This is really good, but not great. It reminds me of a cross between The Mars Volta and music I used to hear on games I used to play back during the genesis/snes era.

This album is simply amazing. Even though the language is made up it fits in perfectly with what is going on in the music. The music is calm and relaxing and at times can be aggressive at the same time you feel the progression as it slowly drives it's way into your soul, enticing you. I listen to this and images form in my mind that i'm in some snow filled field with the sun coming up in the horizon. That's how relaxed I feel when I listen to this album and how beautiful and awe inspiring music on this album is.

A very strong effort by The Mars Volta. The album is more laid back and mellow compared to their earlier efforts and yet is also experimental like Amputechture, but doesn't turn into a long jam session. The only downside to this album is they don't experiment much with their song structure so it follows a verse chorus verse type pattern.
