Lastlight takes what was a good instrumental and a better vocal track and makes it shine, Kingdom (Restoration) is one of my favorite songs ever, Further is an underappreciated classic, Legion benefits enormously from both Janus and Anachron, which lend depth to the genuinely moving lyrics, Saviour needed the lyrics to be finished, and Fragments is a delightfully weird track.rIf we include volume 2, which has the Standing mixes, then Standing is another lyrical masterpiece like Solitary, but much more personal, and all three versions here have their own weight and heft. Radius^2 is underknown and underrated, one of my favorite instrumentals ever by them, if not my favorite.rIt's such a great album that it clarifies Empires' weaknesses, which is a good thing.
