Joel has kept Aviana alive and keeps pushing their sound into a more refined, mature version of itself, honestly their best to date. They're not pushing the metalcore wheel here but their blend is good and most importantly, consistent with djent grooves, dark electronic textures, and a heavier deathcore edge, which I loved. Joel's vocal range strikes a perfect balance between emotive cleans and fierce growls. Now, this is usually the part where I pick a couple of standout tracks, but that's tough because I genuinely enjoyed the entire album, which doesn't happen often for me. If I had to choose, and this is me being nitpicky, Redroom and Heavenly Spark take the win.TesseracT War of BeingThis album is overwhelmingly good, emotional, and sometimes dark, showcasing how TesseracT, the production, and the technical aspects of the music composition are in a whole different tier of their own far surpassing Sonder, without diminishing it.r4.5 superbFit for a King Lonely GodAfter a few listens, here is my honest input:This is a short album (which is not necessarily a bad thing), most of the songs blended together to create a deep and dark/doom-like vibe. The lyrics dive deep into life's struggles and the darkness we often carry alone or share with others. It's clearly well thought out. It kicks off slow but heavy, gradually building up its intensity. I felt that from "Monolith" to "Witness the End", it gets seriously heavy with surprisingly catchy and mosh pit worthy breakdowns lol. "Witness the End" was the highlight, it especially stood out, integrating dark gothic elements like your favorite seasoning, providing a layer of new flavor that just slaps. I was genuinely surprised by it and props for trying something new! Personal favorites: "Monolith", "Sentient", "Blue Venom", and "Witness the End". Least favorite: "Shelter". It felt out of place, almost like it's from a completely different band. It leans more toward generic alt rock and comparable to recent BMtH, which was kind of jarring, but hey, to each their own.Johnny Booth Moments Elsewhere4.0 excellentDarkest Hour Perpetual | TerminalDigging "One with the Void", "Mausoleum", "My Only Regret" and "Goddess of War, Give me Something" which I felt are reminiscence of old school DH. My expectations were low after listening to "Perpetual Terminal" but boy I'm glad I was wrong. Northlane ObsidianWar of Ages DominionEvolving into easily the best-sounding version of War of Ages, their sound had been stagnant for a few albums until they released 'The Void,' which set a new standard for the direction they wanted to pursue, ultimately leading to 'Dominion.' 'Dominion' not only cemented their newly found sound but also refined it. It is heavier and features even more creative and catchy guitar solos, making it distinctly different from bands like Polaris, Architects, and their numerous clones. It may not blow your mind away if you haven't listened to their previous work, but for long- time listeners like me who have followed their music since its inception, it will be a rewarding and pleasant surprise in how much the band has matured over the years. They are undersdogs that deserve more credit for their perseverance and getting out of their comfort zone. 3.5 greatCliffside Deeper WaterDayseeker Creature in the Black Night3.0 goodBleeding Through NINEGood, but it won't blow your mind if you've been following these guys for a while. Slightly better than Love Will Kill All, in my opinion, but still rooted in the formula of albums like Declaration and The Truth. On repeat for me: I am resistance, Emery and War Time. ERRA Cure2.5 averageBleed from Within ZenithI gave this album 3 listens before posting this. I am sad to say that this is Average at best and almost a regression. The songs make you feel like something is about to happen, but it never does ? and they end up feeling very repetitive.Jinjer DuélSoulfly ChamaCheers to Max for stepping out of his comfort zone and trying something new, BUT the result lacks refinement and identity...it feels more like a jumble of different things thrown together, particularly noticeable from song 6 onward.Underneath From the Gut of GaiaDecent slapping with good production however, its forgettable and an entire hot mess express that will remain mosh pit material at best.1.0 awfulAsking Alexandria Where Do We Go from Here?Crown the Empire DOGMAParkway Drive Darker StillSpiritbox Tsunami SeaThe Devil Wears Prada FlowersMediocre songs so far, which is fine for the average masses that enjoy radio rock. I am almost certain there's nothing redeeming to salvage here, only cringe. Lately, it feels like most bands just grind their way up, run out of ideas, and then, instead of getting creative, pull a BMTH, BB, or AA move to stay afloat or 'evolve'. It's getting too predictive and old. TDWP has experimented in the past, but this is plain bland and lazy. Also, what way to waste Mike's vocals *SMH*The Ghost Inside Searching for SolaceFluck a proverbial duck...these guys went full Nu Metal. Another one that goes the 'Maturing' route. Awful album.
