| After all these years, I'm really heartbroken to see that Sybyr still doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Anti-World and Hellhorse can be regarded as one of the most groundbreaking underground Trap albums, with particular influence on the Trap-Metal genre (though Sybyr covers a lot of ground, especially on this project). As a Sybyr "connoisseur", I can tell witouth hesitation that this is his magnum opus and everything he stands for is covered in this tracklist. Experimental cloudrap production handled by the man himself, ranging from icy cold ambient soundscapes to hellish and existential ragers. Then you got the occasional futuristic song, that still spins my head to this day. The vocal performances are insane and not from this world. You can't compare this guy with anyone else. You always hear the influences from the early trap days, early 2010s but with his own demented take on it, channeling a lot of genuine anger and frustration in his voice and lyrics. That's what's most impressive about this project and Sybyrs other work, that these are genuine emotions on display and you feel them under your skin like with no other mainstream record. His pain feels real and you can't help but really understand what Sybyr is going through and feel fascinated by the raw energy and demented world you're being subjected to. You feel very empty and detached of life after a listen of this. Like living behind a glass wall and on the other side is the rest of humanity. Anti-World |

At this point I enjoy this project a lot, but I'll never forget listening to it the first time, thinking that this for once is literally a whole lotta red ripoff in weak. Destroy Lonely and Ken Carson still go for their own lane, while doing rage beats, but this project seemed a bit shameless at first. lol funny that im the first one to rate this. Album is very laid back, minimal and a tad somber, even more so than usual. There are some obvious highlights and I get the vybe the album is going for with its sleepy island space feel. But some songs just seemed a bit undemanding of my attention due to the sparse and relaxed nature (first song for example). But maybe this'll grow on me. Songs I remember adoring: That Is My Life, That Is Yours / Empty Stomach Space Cadet / Hamburgerphobia / When Vanishing
I strongly hope Sput doesn't destroy this album. I don't think King Krule quite deserves it. He mostly takes great care of his projects, that's why I was excited and have to say, I wasn't dissapointed, though this isn't the most immediate music as well. Cheers |
