5.0 classic

4.5 superb
Extra Life Secular Works, Vol. 2
A brilliant return to form, with Toby Driver handling bass duties and Gil Chevigne from Helium Horse Fly on drums. Angular, medieval dirges that cycle between religious ecstasy and horror.
First Children Weird Fossils
Noise/sludge metal played by a bassist/vocalist and drummer/vocalist. Lots of very juicy bass harmonics that really fill out the sound. Proggy sections interchange with 'big dumb riffs'.
Palm (USA-PA) Nicks and Grazes
The Chemical Mind GLOSSOLALIA
Absolutely terrifying. Like the biblical description of angels.
Trauma Triad A North Facing Window
Microtonal, jazzy keys over 808 beats and bass. Really neat.

4.0 excellent
Conjurer Pathos
Cosmic Putrefaction Crepuscular Dirge for the Blessed Ones
Johnny Broke Computer Science
Joyfultalk Familiar Science
Kostnateni Úpal
Fretless guitar makes for an interesting microtonal addition to proggy black metal.
Marina Herlop Pripyat
Soldat Hans Anthaupt
Super Parquet Couteau / Haute Forme
Really interesting mix of genres - amplified french folk, drone music, IDM drums. You will not find this kind of vibes pretty much anywhere else.
Tigris HOP HOP
Extremely fun 'afrodelic power pop'. Deceptively complex rhythms in many parts, but still quite groovy.

3.5 great
Artificial Brain Artificial Brain
Bekor Qilish Throes of Death From The Dreamed Nihilism
Mary Halvorson Amaryllis
Doesn't approach the brilliance of 'Away With You', but still pretty solid, listenable chamber/free jazz. Title track slaps.
Mary Halvorson Belladonna
Nerver Cash
Pier Piras A Wizard's Perspective
SCALPING Void
White Ward False Light

3.0 good
High Castle Teleorkestra The Egg That Never Opened
Some good moments reminiscent of Estradasphere/Mr. Bungle, but doesn't quite come together as a whole for me.
