Solid choruses, solid verses, and a lot of solid breakdowns. Despite attempts to differentiate each song from each other, such as the sort of black metal-ish influence in "flesh and stone", this album still suffers from many of the songs sounding extremely similar. The singles manage to differentiate themselves somewhat. With "Stand down" having one chorus and "I am damnation" having and extremely memorable riff. Unfortunately many of the non-singles on this album just blend into each other.Their last record had the same issue. This band is clearly very capable in terms of both songwriting and their technicality but the sameness of these songs show they still have a long way to go before they release anything incredible. Hopefully in a couple of records they'll release something that taps into more of their potential. And again, by no means are any of these songs bad. They're mostly good standard songs for them. But there's nothing here truly impressive or worth listening to on repeat. It's a solid standard metalcore record, but not one I'll likely listen to again fully anytime soon. Although I'll probably still spin "stand down" quite often, as in my opinion that is by far the best song on the record.Born of Osiris The New ReignBorn of Osiris Your Heart Engraved These MessagesBorn of Osiris Angel or AlienChunk!
