Soles?Local H Alive '05Tyler Childers Live On Red Barn Radio I & III don't listen to live music often, but his version of Whitehouse Road was the fist song I heard from him; it was as I was sitting drinking a beer, outside a a craft brewery in Knoxville, TN. Everything on this album defines living in the South for me now. 4.0 excellentFlogging Molly Within a Mile of HomeFlogging Molly Drunken LullabiesFlogging Molly SwaggerGreen Day KerplunkGreen Day DookieJudah and the Lion Folk Hop n' Roll (Deluxe)After a false start with the original release of this record, the deluxe version (along with Take it All Back 2.0 and Suit & Jacket) provide the kind of blend of hip-hop and folk that anthems are made of!Tyler Childers PurgatoryTyler Childers Long Violent History3.5 greatAmerican Sixgun Gypsy Circus & The Southern WindAmerican Sixgun is a now defunct band I met on The Warped Tour back in 2008 or so. This is their second album, which they self-released. It has some real bangers on it, but after all these years, I'm still not exactly what the overall theme is or if any of these songs really have that much heart in them. Nonetheless the addition of additional vocals and a gospel church organ really create something more special than their first release. In the end, I just play it in my car on a summer day and enjoy the open highway - like god intended. Flogging Molly FloatGreen Day American IdiotLocal H LifersReally enjoyed the heavy metal riffs throughout this album, which creates a great high energy circus; Although the Local H quirkiness is missing, this is one I will be playing more and more of. 3.0 goodAmerican Sixgun The Devil in Your BonesA well rounded old school rock album that ends with a ballad. If that doesn't sound as 'on-the-nose' you can git, how about a song about how rock stars never die, and a break up? Still more? How about finding that special gal and on a whim just running away from it all? Yeah, it's all typical and nothing really feels personal to the singers, but the sound is right on. The music is nothing special, and isn't consistent enough for me to want to listen to the whole album in order. I'd be skipping around, or adding a select few tracks to other playlists, which isn't a bad thing - but it isn't great either. 2.0 poorThe Pretty Reckless Who You Selling ForFelt like a step down from the crazy fireball the previous album was. Although the flame burnt out for me on the previous album, at least I saw the light and felt the heat - unlike with this album. Tyler Childers Country Squire1.5 very poorJudah and the Lion Pep Talks
