Archgoat Eternal Damnation Of Christ
Archgoat Jesus Spawn
Classic recorded in a garbage can vibes. This is not a 1 by any means, but it sounds pretty awful even for an underground early 90s black metal demo.

Ceremonial Castings Immortal Black Art
Probably the only album I'm not crazy about from these guys. It's still good but treads a bit too much in mid-2000s symphonic black metal waters for me. Check out Barbaric is the Beast for a better version of this style. Although, Human Slave Infantry is a killer song.
Charley Crockett In The Night
Still firmly in his Americana/Old Time era but it's very listenable.
Charley Crockett The Valley
A solid Crockett album but kind of flies under the radar aside from a handful of standout tracks.
Charley Crockett Music City USA
Charley Crockett $10 Cowboy

A solid little EP. I really dig the first two tracks, especially with Hulder, and the final
track is some good atmosphere. An extra song would have really boosted this imo. |
Earth Hex: Or Printing In the Infernal Method
Elder (USA-MA) Liminality/Dream State Return
Eminem The Eminem Show
Enei Sinking
Epigram (USA-CA) Shadows
Eveale Enter The Woodland Realm
Solid album and I could see this band going someplace really cool in future releases. The last three tracks in particular are fun.
Eyehategod Eyehategod
Fall Out Boy From Under the Cork Tree
Fire Magic Undying Revolt
Triumphant, melodic and crushing. Great debut. They have a new album coming out in March that sounds like a big step up too.
Flatland Cavalry Come May
Flatland Cavalry Wandering Star
A bit of a misfire. Flatland Cavalry has always been sentimental, emotional country but it was generally tempered with some heaters. This is mostly just a mid-set 'Grab someone special and make your way to the dancefloor' collection of songs. Not bad, but falls flat compared to their earlier albums.
Flying Lotus BIG MAMA
Foo Fighters In Your Honor
Garrett T. Capps I Still Love San Antone
Sorry Shamu is definitely top ten songs of the year already. Oddball San Antonio worship
conducted mostly in the key of country. |

Gogol Bordello Pura Vida Conspiracy
Gorillaz The Mountain
Grave Miasma Abyss of Wrathful Deities
Grave Pilgrim Molten Hands Reach West
GraveRipper From Welkin to Tundra
Solid blackened thrash album but I didn't have quite as much fun listening to this one compared their previous album.
Guns N' Roses Appetite for Destruction
Havohej Dethrone the Son of God
Hereticon Severed
Solid raw black metal. They put on a hell of a show too, nice seeing a local band all done up in the GEAR. Their vocalist has an insane scream too.
Homunculus Promotional Demo MMXXIV
Marketed as psychedelic war metal and it's kinda right I suppose. Sounds like Teitanblood if they smoked an ounce of chronic.
I Declare War Bring the Season
This is not good, but every Christmas season one of these stupid covers pops into my head. Living rent free there for nearly 20 years means they did something right, I guess.
I, Forlorn Requiem
Immolation Kingdom of Conspiracy
Immolation Harnessing Ruin
Immortal Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism
Impure (USA) Satan's Eclipse
Incantvm Strigae
Solidly ok release that lots of cool clarinet. Their next album is a big improvement in every way.
Inner Cloister Demo MMXXV
Some good two-piece lofi black metal riffage and ambiance by one of the people behind Hissing. I wonder if a full length album is in the works.

Ivy Lab Fortuna
Jackson Taylor & The Sinners Red Lights
Jackson Taylor & The Sinners Cantina Del Diablo
Jesse Daniel Countin' the Miles
A fun and well-made country album. Strikes a good balance between modern and traditional sounds.
Job For A Cowboy Genesis
Johnny Blue Skies Mutiny After Midnight
Solidly enjoyable disco but I'm enjoying it more in a novelty sort of way.
Kahn Percy/Fierce
Kanonenfieber Menschenmühle
Karnivool In Verses
Kashus Culpepper Act I
This is a very enjoyable debut. It's a nice blend of soulful country with some bits of rock thrown in for good measure. It does suffer from a bit of runtime bloat like too many modern country releases and there are a couple too many meh songs. That said this is more like a 3.8 for me and I'm definitely gonna be keeping an eye on Culpepper.
Knocked Loose Pop Culture
Lamb of God Sacrament
Limp Bizkit Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water

Luke Grimes RedBird
Made Out of Babies Trophy
Made Out of Babies Coward
Mala Mala In Cuba

Mortuary Drape Into the Drape
It's good but completely overshadowed by their debut and sophomore albums. Worth listening to for sure though.
Mortuary Drape Black Flames of Blasphemy
This was a 7 inch pressing made for Black Flames of Blasphemy festival. It has three tracks,
two of which are on Tolling 13 Knell: Dreadful Discovery and Soul in Sorrow. New(?) song is
Obscure World and only like 1:30 long. Same rating as Tolling. |

It's good but a lot more atmospheric than last year's album, which works against it a little.
Nurser Nurser

Oracle of Worms Frost Falls
A relentless 20 minutes of pummeling black/death. Cool name too.

An Iron Maiden clone, but a very fun and competent one.
Serpent Lord (USA-WA) Battle Horns (demo)
A melodic, atmospheric, at times spooky little demo from one of Superchi's side project that was running concurrent with early-ish Ceremonial Castings.
SHADES In Praise of Darkness
Shadows Fall Threads of Life
Shane Smith and the Saints Coast
Shovels and Rope Something Is Working Up Above My Head

Some solid Bolt Thrower worship and a snappy listen.

The Devil Makes Three Chains Are Broken
Also another solid outing. TDMT set the bar so high with their first three albums that it's hard to top them, but what this lacks in raw punkyness it makes up for with catchiness and polish.
The Devil Makes Three Redemption & Ruin
Smok's sipping that h8erade over the devil makes three but this is a decent album by them. Not as good as other releases but not bad.

Solid country infused with Midwest rock, or maybe it's the other way around? Y'all like country with some Springsteen? This is your album.
Torture (USA-IL) Audiotree Live
Probably the only Torture I'll realistically listen to all the way through but it's solid. Good production quality and once you sink into the vibes it's enjoyable and weirdly hypnotic considering it's slam. Plus anti-war slam is pretty cool.
Treaty Oak Revival West Texas Degenerate
Trespasser (SWE) Чому не вийшло?
A competent Marduk clone of an album focused on anarchist politics.
Trespasser (SWE) ἈΠΟΚΆΛΥΨΙΣ
Turnpike Troubadours The Turnpike Troubadours
Seems like a slump album for the band but still pretty okay. Check out the albums before and after though for much better music.
Tyler Halverson In Defense Of Drinking
Uada Interwoven
The instrumentation and production quality on here are extremely good. The vocals are a tad much for me sometimes but I think they work with the vibe overall. This is about as solid a job as you can really do transposing black metal to dark folk and it's such an ambitious idea I think Uada deserves props for that alone. Giving this a 4 on first listen but I can almost guarantee that'll change one way or the other with more listens.
Uada Djinn

Ulcerate Of Fracture and Failure
Underoath Define The Great Line
Veil of Maya [id]
Vitriol (USA) Suffer & Become
Vollmondprozession Vollmondprozession
All the seeds are here for their debut album. It's a little less polished and a little less developed but it's worth a listen.

Whey Jennings Baptized By Fire
Whitechapel This Is Exile
Willi Carlisle Winged Victory
William Elliott Whitmore Field Songs
Windir Soknardalr
Wolfzahn In War There is No Substitute for Victory
Serviceable war-inspired melodic black metal. Solid but nothing you haven't heard. A full length release would be nice.

Zach Bryan With Heaven On Top
another country album that suffers from album bloat. cut cut cut for the love of fuck. cut
10 songs, call it a day. edit: I don't have it, in fact a lot of it is quite good, but this
would probably be a 4 or better if he'd cut this down to 10 to 15 songs instead of 25. |
Zach Bryan Streets of London

Bathory Octagon
Between the Buried and Me The Silent Circus
blink-182 Enema Of The State
Blood Revolt Indoctrine
It's ok. Nice hearing the real talent of Revenge without the fascist Pete. It's at its best when it's going full speed ahead and grinds to a halt when it's not. Worth checking out but I probably won't give it many more listens.
Blut Aus Nord 777 - The Desanctification
Boar Taint Tainted For Life
Much better than it has any right to be. An unapologetic blend of pop punk and grind that somehow works.
Breaking Benjamin Phobia
Charley Crockett A Stolen Jewel
Solid debut with a ton of covers. It's cool hearing the diverse influences he's pulling from in his modern music on display here.

GoatPenis End
Solidly mid effort. Band peaked about a years earlier. Keep pirating until MGM 666 croaks
too lol |
Goatwhore The Eclipse Of Ages Into Black
A solid debut album. I'm just glad they stopped doing the weird nu-metal sing/talking.
Gogol Bordello We Mean It, Man!
This ain't it. I used to love this band but fell off them a while back. They're like a parody of themselves at this point. I'm sure these songs still slay live though.

Lorna Shore I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me
Symphonic black metal is my least favorite form of the genre, so when Lorna Shore really lean into the melody and atmosphere on this album it kind of loses its punch for me. About half of these songs are great, namely the more aggressive ones where they dive into the black metal and deathcore, and away from the symphonic elements. The others are well written I suppose but not for me, kinda sounds like Lord of the Rings meets Stryper. rStandout tracks: Prison of Flesh, Oblivion, Death Can Take Me, War Machine, A Nameless Hymn. Album would have been a 4 for me if it was just these songs.rWillow Soundtrack: The rest of the songs.
Luke Combs The Way I Am
Honestly I don't hate it. It reminds me of driving through the woods heading to go camping kinda vibe. It's catchy and there's not a whiff of tractor rap. Could have lost about 25 minutes of playtime though and been better for it.
Lykten When the Clouds Approached and Covered the Moon
An interesting debut. Hopefully he gets around to coming out with a full length album at some point and building on the themes and ideas here.
Malauriu The Third Nail
Mammon's Throne My Body to the Worms
I dig the art and some of the songs on here are killer, like the opener, but it gets bogged down by distractingly cheesy lyrics, some less than stellar vocals and some weird groove metal riffs that don't really work. But listen to the opener at least, it has hints of Tiamat's "Whatever That Hurts."
Metallica Load
Metallica Reload
Mortuary Drape Buried in Time
Motorhead March Ör Die
Motorhead Snake Bite Love
Motorhead Hammered
Naked Whipper Chapel Defilement
It sounds the exact same as their previous releases from the 90s with better audio quality. A fun blackgrind album.
Nile Worship the Animal (1994 the Lost Recordings)
It's essentially a thrash album with some traces of the band they would go on to become. Glad they did their homework in releasing this though by giving it a proper master.
One Day as a Lion One Day as a Lion
P.O.D. Testify
Panopticon Laurentian Blue
Papa Roach Getting Away With Murder
Pissgrave Malignant Worthlessness
Feels a lot longer than 31 minutes. Not much memorable compared to their previous two albums. Probably deserves a review since it's allegedly their last one.
Reaping Fields Flesh of My Flesh
These guys are awesome live, but that gets a bit lost in their recordings.
Rhinderpest Rhinderpest
It's certainly a raw debut but nicely hellish when you let yourself sink into it, especially the slower doomier parts.
Rotting Christ Genesis
Better than Khronos. Some heavy riffs return! You can hear them running out of stream with their goth phase.
Rusko Everyday
Ryan Bingham They Call Us The Lucky Ones
Seether Karma And Effect
Serpent Lord (USA-WA) The Rite of War (split w/ Mysticism Black)
An interesting but somewhat forgettable split between the solo projects of the Superchi brothers.

Three Days Grace Three Days Grace
Truckstop Dickpill Buc-eeverse Beatdown
Welcome to WatchMojo, today we will be jerking off a horse. There's nothing serious here and it's not that good but goddamn it made me giggle.
Vital Remains Let Us Pray
Whey Jennings Jekyll & Hyde
Gets a little too rah-rah 'murica and jesus-y for me at times, but at least it seems like he's writing songs he believes in instead of for the billboards, which I can respect. Great voice too, definite echoes of his granddad.
Whitechapel The Somatic Defilement
With Blood Comes Cleansing Horror
Wolves in the Throne Room Celestite
Worakls From one blink to another
Too much midtempo, not enough melodic techno for my taste.
Yellow Eyes Split with Monvment
