My album of the year, absolutely enchanting. Sometimes dark, but never oppressive and Place in the Sun is a wonderful climax for such a cathartic album. rChelsea Wolfe made her "most electronic" record while still undoubtedly remaining true to her style and herself. "Everything Turns Blue", "Place in the Sun" and "Dusk" stand out imho, but there's no filler material on this release.

Awesome debut album which somewhere reminds me of O(ld)peth (if they had a collaboration with Sylvaine). Swedish Vocals fit the songs they're corresponding to very well. I love the transition from dark and blackened "Falvär" to the calmer "Alive Again".
Horisont About Time

Insomnium Winter's Gate
Inter Arma Sulphur English
Pretty sad this album might stay in it's bubble. "Howling Lands" and "Stillness" are amazing, the contrast even more and
"Blood on the Lupines" owns everything. "Sulphur English" is like a cynical and devious trip into our own minds' deepest
layers, into preserved fears and grimful thoughts.
IQ Resistance
Imagine there are THREE songs over 15 minutes and they all manage to keep my interest (and not only mine). This should
say enough about the overall quality of composition. And if you somehow get along with Peter Nicholis' voice, this album is
enjoyable and capturing in its length. Unfortunately, there's "If Anything" - I get this song's basis but the arrangement
seems kind of generic to me. If IQ had removed this song, I'd consider "Resistance" to be the "Classic" that no one was
expecting anymore.

Damn, I do understand why you're harsh on "Anthem of the Peaceful Army", but not why with this EP. It's from their DEBUT
Year. You know what Led Zeppelin did at this time? They ripped off some blues patterns or songs, even got sued later. And
when I say "rip off", I mean "rip off", not like the awesome and official cover / development of "When the Levee Breaks". I
think, there's more own work behind "From the Fires" than "Led Zeppelin I". And: GvF tried a Sam Cooke Cover which didn't
really go wrong. Due to using appropriate standards for a young band, (whose members are obviously Zep fans, yeah!)
this EP is a bit above average.

Awesome guitar work by Fredrik kesson and some light moments of songwriting ("Respite on the Spitalfields", "Call Me Little Sunshine") and the one in aspects of texting too ("Watcher in the Sky" let me return to this album quite often. rBut some lyrics are exceptionally bad r("Grabbing them all by the hu-has" or r"Listen up, you motherfuckersrThose Ivy League dopes, they wanna mock usrTell 'em all this is warrAnd not fighting a war is for suckers (Kiss my)", both in "Twenties" andr"I'm your rock, baby, rI won't back down..." in "Griftwood") WHY THE HELL DO YOU HATE TOM PETTY THAT MUCH?rAnd the bland production spoiled "Call Me Little Sunshine" which could have become outstanding but now just is... still quite good, I guess.rSo this album brings me a lot of joy if I manage to overhear some big flaws here and there.
