| This album is something else... Truth be told I was expecting something completely different from Emptiness (like many others I think) and at first I did not get this. I left it in the shelf and a few days later this melody was coming to my head all the time... It drove me crazy because I did not remember where was it coming from it until I casually listened to this again. The melody was from 'It Might Be' and the third spin was a musical revelation. There is somethoing very very special about this album aura, vibe, or whatever you want to call it. It grew so much on me it ended being my 2017 AOTY. Give this time guys, it's a masterpiece. |

I read a review online saying this sounds like a hidden gem from the early 90s found in a
Norweigan basement, and that's a neat description of this. It's black metal infused with some
classic heavy metal riffs. It's so weird yet so good I'm not hiding this is one of my fav
black
metal albums of the last decade. Its raw production helps a lot for it's cult status aura.
I'm pretty sure this will be an underground classic someday. |

Devin Townsend, and an emotional soundscape of great ambition, so you know you are listening
rto modern prog, and honestly, it's one of the most eclectic offerings this genre has given
us yet. Its dynamic nature and diverse guest appearences makes it lose factors like cohesion
and sense of whole, but the quality on songwriting and musical technique compensate for a
very interesting listen. Probably the most ambitiously produced album since Fear Inoculum.
For fans of Leprous, Devin Townsend, Karnivool, Sigur Ros... Prog realm is a kingdom of hit
and miss, and this album is definitely a hit. |

| I never got the hype this band gets. None of its albums really clicked with me. Sure, I could renjoy most of them but they were not that special to me. The american roots music addition rmade the project somehow unique, but I felt they weren't as good as other well-know ratmospheric black metal projects. Now the leap of quality in this one is a force to be rrockoned with. There is something about the production and the overall vibe in this album rthat makes it stand above anything this guy has ever done. It's the darkest, heaviest, most rcohesive and most determined Panopticon album, and it manages to mantain the properties that rmade this project unique. Need more spins to fully wrap my mind around it but I can already rsay this is definitely the best Panopticon album for sure. |

Best Abigor's work to date. It's the first
Abigor album I've been able to thoroughly
enjoy. The problem I had with their previous
works was that there were too many beat around
the bush moments. Leymotif Luzifer had some
great sparks but they did not last long and it
ended up sounding like a "Film d'auteur" so to
speak. This on the other hand is consistent
quality all the time. 9/10 |

One of the best re-recordings of an album I've ever seen. It mantains the energy and
relentless thrashing of the original and I would say it improves over it even. The only
downside is the compressed production, which, for the genre is not atricious but still loses
that early 90s dynamic thrash feel in favor of a more Vader type of sound. |

This grew on me after the 4th spin. The female cleans are absolutely fantastic in this album. Nice
modern atmospheric post-metal with unique song-writing.
Edit: After more spins I feel the album loses its sense of purpose in 'Meat Star' and 'Spanker'.
Those two tracks are weirdly placed since they sound more like an indie type of alternative
rock/metal. The first 5 tracks are awesome nonetheless, specially Flesh World. I dislike the way
the album moves after that track, to the point of skipping 'Spanker' always. The last track is
pretty good too though. |

That false dichotomy is very obsolete and very narrow to understand the current problems we
face. Actually you pointed out that Alan, for example, voted for gay marriage and abortion
rights, which would be considered a "left wing" stance, yet everything is way more complex
than that. I'm very critical of vaccines for example and just stating that would make me an
anti-vaxxer, far-right, conspiracy theorist in many places in the world right now. People
decide in less than a second what a person supposedly is based on a different/dissonant
opinion. Tags
like "fash", "leftie", "commie", "conspiracy theorist" are 99% of time used as absurd
reductions for ideas that are complex in nature when studied carefully. Hopefully we may
engage in good-spirited discussion at some point because you strike me as a fella who can do

Tourniquet pulled a 'Load' move before Metallica. I guess thrash metal bands were very fond
of Pantera, Kyuss and Soundgarden back then. Not bad in any way, just not what you would
expect from this band at this point and definitely not better than their inspiration bands
for this particular brand of metal. Still a very enjoyable listen for a mid 90s metal

Great album. It causes an excellent first impression because everything is executed clean and
nicely, with hard riffs and sweet atmospherics turns. On repeated listens however, it definitely
lacks originality. You've heard this all before. It's a very well executed mismash of bands like
Tool, Mastodon, Kylesa and The Ocean. Don't take me wrong, this sounds fantastic and it's still a
great album, just nothing new if you are an experienced metalhead. |

Yeah, I'm not feeling this as much as most people it seems. Musicianship and technical
prowess are brilliant but in the end it sounds like Hate Eternal on steroids (and I was never
a huge HE fan tbh). Also too many layers of sound, overloaded scene, like other user
specified, these arrangements are too busy.
If Jari Maenpaa teamed up with these guys to release something there would be such a
brickwall of vst effects and instrument tracks that the music would reach inaudibility
levels. |
