This is going to be one of those albums I have to hear a few times before I have a solid opinion on it, but I like it a lot so far - the musicianship and execution here are top-notch.

The Fall 458489 A-Sides
For a band with a vocalist who can't sing and a general sense of anti-commercialism,
they're really able to pull together for some solid singles. The A-side is very solid,
with a number of essential Fall tracks (especially "C.R.E.E.P." and "Cruiser's Creek").
The B-side is pretty good, but does close out with the album's weaker tracks. Overall,
though, a fine selection of cuts from one of the Fall's best eras.

Couldn't really get into it, maybe because it doesn't have the same atmospheric sound and controlled chaos of the rest of their discography going forward (kinda sounds more like an extension of Adrenaline than the precursor to White Pony). "Be Quiet and Drive" rules, though.

Pretty poor remix album that doesn't do the classic album justice. Most of these tracks are either amateurishs that barely qualify as legitimate remixes or smear reverb on the track so much that everything sounds like mush.rThere are some keepers on here, though: "Teenager", "Knife Prty", "Passenger" and "Change" all receive quality reinterpretations

"When I'm With You" is great. So great, in fact, that Sparks decided it would be a good idea

an instrumental reprise of that song). Keep the aforementioned track and go back to "No. 1 in
Heaven" (undeniably one of Sparks' finest efforts).

I never really cared for Gas all that much - even though I'm a big fan of ambient music,
Voigt's music often came off as overly pretentious and
drab as if to repurpose lazily-produced sample-based ambience as gallery-
worthy high art. But this, this is just a nadir in the project, and that god-awful high
frequency on every other beat is on par with parodically terrible music. I've heard rumors
that the retrospective nature of this work may suggest a finale, but
the upset that this singularly horrid disturbance causes suggests more of a "good riddance"
than a "goodbye".
