It's the polar opposite of Blue Sky Noise - which is their worst album.Loathe (UK) I Let It In And It Took EverythingNorthlane NodeI've never heard drums mixed as good as in Node. Cool sounds and good sound-writing. Cohesive. Only 1-2 weaker tracks (Ra/Animate). This album would be perfect if it had more jammier/progressive elements to it.Squid Bright Green Field3.5 greatEnter Shikari Nothing Is True and Everything Is PossibleProbably their best record yet, combining a lot of elements from all their previous records, mashing them together, resulting in one of the most diverse, moving and interesting albums I've heard since a very long time. 0.5 points deducted from the slightly-lacking-in-high-end kind of mix. Sometimes it's hard to hear the drum cymbals and it fucks with the groove a bit. 1 point deducted because the album lacks staying power and wears out too quick.Northlane SingularityThe last remnant of the old, hard Northlane. Kinda generic but has that cool spacey undertone that was pushed further with Node. It's a little more simplistic than Mesmer, but packs a lot more energy to it.Northlane AlienThe songwriting and the songs are pretty good, but it's the bland instrumentals that's dragging it down: Drums are way more simplified from their earlier stuff and guitars are clearly taking a step back, letting the synths flourish a bit more, losing some technicality in the process. Also it just kinda goes full throttle and never stops. It doesn't have a song like "Weightless" that slows everything down perfectly for a moment. The Devil Wears Prada The ActThe Used The CanyonThe only The Used album worth listening, largely due to Justin's guitar work and the more unique (analog) recording processThornhill Heroine3.0 goodERRA ERRAThe best amalgamation of the new ERRA (post-Augment). Quintessential djent album - but never much more than that.Genghis Tron Dream WeaponInteresting mix of post-rock with a heavy electronic/synth focus. When it WOWs you it's fucking amazing, but when it doesn't - it's just kind of there in the background (like 95% of post-rock music)Soen ImperialI'm new to Soen and while it's not bad, I fail to see the "prog" in this. 2.5 averageCirca Survive A Dream About LoveDeftones OhmsIt is my favorite Deftones record thus far, which says a lot about what I think about the bandGod Is an Astronaut Ghost Tapes #10Good listen. A little less post and more rock. My score is ultimately determined by the amount of times I see myself listening to this record. Northlane MesmerThis album kinda lacks the dynamic range of Node. The mix is just one big wall of sound and the songwriting is basically just a whole lot of chugging. The main word I'd use to describe this album is "lethargic".Northlane ObsidianI can relate with Marcus midway through the album: r"Is This A Test" as I ask myself later on where rare all the memorable bits in this album. The Strokes The New AbnormalTries to do some cool shit to revitalize The Strokes but it's not quite there yet.2.0 poorDance Gavin Dance AfterburnerThe Prisoner is a legit good, mature song. Rest is the same shit that DGD is known for. It's like some childish, frantic dream.Steven Wilson The Future BitesIt seems that Steven Wilson's catalog is now determined by how "shockingly irregular" or edgy it is. Unfortunately this sound has been done before, and much better. At it's best it sounds like catchy, fun indie-pop, like foster the people or some shit, but all the more "deeper" moments just fail to invoke anything in me.The Devil Wears Prada Color Decay
