The mix got worse (who else thinks the mix on Conqueror was FANTASTIC??). The symphonic parts are too high in the mix and the real meat of the album (growling vocals which sound far too distant and echoey but mels vocals are great as usual and daves cleans, guitars and drums) are not up front enough. It's a real shame as the mix on the last 3 albums was much better, not perfect, but still had plenty of beef to it.rThe singles are good, but still pale in comparison to Progenitor, Acheron and even Embers (which imo had some amazing tracks and a couple meh ones). The rest of the album felt rushed and not well thought out. I was really expecting a stronger release with taking some extra time with it compared to the last few albums. Not to mention the opening 6 minutes track of not much substance and mostly just noise. No epic instrumental opening track like on Acheron or short intro into a banger like the first two tracks of Progenitor. I also just never got the goosebumbs and strong feels I usually get with Mechina. I also have to say Compendium was the worst thing they have ever done. I don't understand how anyone can find it better or as good as the originals. It sounded like this artificial layer of more symphonic elements that just didn't fit and ruined it. I bought it anyways to support them, but never listen to it. Alas, every band has it's weaker albums, and this is by no means horrible material, but just not up to their usual caliber.
