Matt turned Slaves into a pop act without shying away from a standard mainstream songwriting formula, and the rest of the band followed suit and did their best to compliment him surprisingly without selling out. This album is the start of this reputable band going stale, but the album still holds up as it is full of life and vigor. The band also managed to withstand the disaster of Cameron Mizell's take on most of the genre's junior albums that he produced with the shotty and harsh production, a weird direction that he was attempting to mold the scene with at the time. Somehow, the album turned out great with tight production but with a hint of the rawness that Mizell was shooting for. Some tracks like Broken Circuit for an example is some of the most experimental attempts yet. Telle's vocals are flat, Lighthouse and The Runaway are train wrecks. But despite that, this is perhaps one of the last known memories of TWA being a cohesive and joyful band.Thousand Below Gone in Your WakeAre you guys kidding me? This was absolutely delightful.Vanna A New HopeThis album should be respected by everyone. A very clever late 00s post-hardcore album with probably the greatest single to ever drop in the scene (safe to say).
