The artistic integrity this album is embedded with couldn't be articulate by a mere mortal. The energy of the dark angst indie post hardcore while complimented with wild lush progressive rock undertones overflows with perfect harmony all while poking the mind of the listener with challenging lyricism. One of the most important albums in the history of metal. The only album I can think of to pioneer metalcore to unprecedented heights while simultaneously being the most conservative metal album of all time. Also, pushing the envelope to even more angst and pure energy in the rock world.

This album had small room for error and they capitalized with flying colors. The production is bottom line flawless, much tighter than their last attempt and devoid of cringy trap taps scattered throughout. The strong song writing and production sets it up nicely to where Matt can easily hit a home run with his seasoned background of premier professional singing. Matt turned Slaves into a pop act without shying away from a standard mainstream songwriting formula, and the rest of the band followed suit and did their best to compliment him surprisingly without selling out. Slaves seems like THE ONLY band to do the whole post hc/pop rock shtick correctly. 5/5

Ah yes, my favorite one hit masterpiece. You will never listen to an album as smooth as this one, with the jazzy soulful delicate beats produced by the wizardly talent of producer Ktoven. Also, shout out to all the talented people who laid down the saxophones solos!
War of Ages Eternal
This is without a doubt one of my favorite metalcore albums of all time. Not a lot to hate here.
It has a healthy balance of trendy breakdown foolery and all the technicality of a traditional

August Burns Red Death Below
I very much enjoyed the "cringey" spoken word intro. It gave Jordan Dreyer I run for his money. This band has always had trouble trying to shake things up but I think they finally found it whenever they occasionally wander into deathcore-esque territory while still maintaining to steer the ship back to their signature sound. This was a success.
August Burns Red Thrill Seeker (Anniversary)
Call me crazy but this just might be their most passionate project yet. Revamped production but it doesn't lose that old school umph. I personally thought the "remixes" were butchered. Clearly, Jake was a huge fan of the album before joining the band he did justice.

It's nice to listen to a competent progressive post-hardcore record that doesn't hold the low brow connotation of the likes of swancore or hearing that half the album is a victim of going pop like some of these bands do. It feels like it's 2013 and I'm listening to Hands Like Houses!

Jamie's Elsewhere They Said a Storm Was Coming
This band is so talented that I amusingly like to think they stigmatized this album with unwarranted cliche synths and breakdowns just to challenge themselves and see how well they could execute it. Obviously, their soulful take on post hc wasn't interesting at the time, so they had to asking alexandria it up, which makes this album a fun beautiful enigma.
Jamie's Elsewhere Rebel - Revive
This is a culmination of all the hard work the whole modern post hardcore scene was striving for in the late 00s. Absurd energy, unbelievable melody, and fun. It's a shame this album was mask via former singer leaving to go to OM&M.

August Burns Red Guardians
The band's biggest effort to shake up their discography via an overhaul in their usual nagging overproduced perfected sound, choosing a distorted new look. The final product creates something more organic, gritty, and extremely powerful. This was a success.

Fire from the Gods Narrative
Quickly becoming one of my favorite bands. Puts their own thrashy spin on mainstream metalcore. Definitely the ones to hold the torch for Rise Records.
Fit for a King Creation | Destruction
Fit for a King Dark Skies
This is the best it can get for Fit For A King and maybe even metalcore at this era in time. What I adore about this record is how vulnerable Kirby is with his lyrics and the album in general has this hopeless gloom to it. They only parts I couldn't vibe with was the slower timed slipknot esque attempts. But fortunately, all those tracks were only two minutes or so. Oblivion is probably the greatest ending to an album if I have ever heard one.
From Autumn to Ashes Holding a Wolf by the Ears
Such an interesting album. As redundant as this genre is, this album feels unique and one of a kind. This thing is extremely dark and heavy but it also has the comfort of They're Only Chasing Safety . This is one of those albums where you can hear the sheer energy and emotion piercing through the music.
Hail the Sun Mental Knife
I Am King Onehundred
It's a tragedy for any fan of the genre to overlook this. It would be an understatement to say they were ahead of their time. Big names in the scene took a long time to pump out such energetic and groovy melodies like this. These guys did as soon as they appeared on the scene. Clean vocalist, Angel Flores flexes all over this album with his infectious and versatile licks and runs. It's a shame Rise didn't get these guys the backing they needed.

Who would have known that lackluster emo trap and 00s pop punk actually mixes into something pretty awesome? More importantly, I commend MGK for using his status to attempt to revive pop punk or rock in general back into the mainstream.
Miss May I Curse of Existence
Melodic Deathcore [2]
Polaris The Mortal Coil
One of the most refreshing and competent metalcore records I've heard in a while. Even more
impressive when you consider that this came out in 2017 when we thought that the genre has been
wrung out to ad nauseam. Get's a bit tiresome near the end though. Also want to point out how
ridiculous sputnik's user base is considering how identical this sounds to Wage War.
Pusha T DAYTONA
Royal Coda Compassion
Happiness meets Conversation Piece. Needless to say, I came pretty hard.
Skillet Comatose
This is the absolute zenith of hard rock and nu-metal ability. This record breaks the fabric of space and time of the realm of mainstream rock. There's nothing anyone can do to progress this genre of music. This album has done it all. It is finished.
Sleeping With Sirens How It Feels to Be Lost
Spiritbox Tsunami Sea
Worthy successor to Eternal Blue. Quality sucks in the best way possible. Sounds like some 2010core
Strangers To Wolves Lost Boys
The Story So Far I Want to Disappear
The Word Alive Real.
A very amusing record to say the least. This album is the start of this reputable band going
stale, but the album still holds up as it is full of life and vigor. The band also managed to
withstand the disaster of Cameron Mizell's take on most of the genre's junior albums that he
produced with the shotty and harsh production, a weird direction that he was attempting to mold
the scene with at the time. Somehow, the album turned out great with tight production but with a
hint of the rawness that Mizell was shooting for. Some tracks like Broken Circuit for an
example is some of the most experimental attempts yet. Telle's vocals are flat, Lighthouse
and The Runaway are train wrecks. But despite that, this is perhaps one of the last known
memories of TWA being a cohesive and joyful band.
Thousand Below Gone in Your Wake
Are you guys kidding me? This was absolutely delightful.
Vanna A New Hope
This album should be respected by everyone. A very clever late 00s post-hardcore album with probably the greatest single to ever drop in the scene (safe to say). It'll be a no-brainer to look back on this and give it props.

A Bullet for Pretty Boy Beauty In The Eyes Of The Beholder
I love these premature crabcore albums. It’s a shame this band gets a bad rap for sounding too much like Prada.
Definitely more competent than anything on tdwp first record. Hell, maybe even Plauges.
Alive Like Me Only Forever
This album is basically every pop trope late 00s metalcore bands crammed into their music when
they're not chugging and or in a ridiculous breakdown except this album doesn't have the ladder.
And it's actually an amusing listen haha
Armor For Sleep The Rain Museum
Managed to not ditch their roots. Rather, embracing the sound that made them who they are and making it even more accessible opposed to watering it down like MGK and other artists. Vocals from Jorgensen are rather flat as a result of either boredom or just being rusty from hiatus. Armor For Sleep and Anberlin is shaping 2022 and preparing the future to be a bright one for the alt rock / Pop Punk Revival scene and I couldn't be more stoked.
Attack Attack! Long Time, No Sea
Wasn't sure what to think of the new AA! when I first listened to the singles out of context. But after listening to them in its entirety, this EP is wildly fun. Kudos to Chris Parketny for adjusting his vocal style to really making this record sound a lot like their selftitled. Production is great. Never thought this band could make a tight record without Johnny Frank. Maybe it was Caleb Shomo that plagued the band the whole time.

How in the hell did this slip under my radar? This is a rare specific sound that I adore. Gritty raw vocals and even filthier authentic instruments devoid from synth and other filler. The album does tend to get a little tiresome at the end.
In Angles Cardinal
A delightful find for me. Nothing too ground breaking, but I've personally have never heard Pop-
Punk and Mathcore blended so well before. I enjoyed the strip down production too, all these
elements create something refreshing.

Marilyn Manson One Assassination Under God - Chapter 1
Shaquille O'Neal You Can't Stop the Reign
Texas in July One Reality
Album was released during a bizarre period where hypocritical sputnik users complained about chugs and breakdowns while simultaneously scoffs about how boring this release is. This album is a solid metalcore release in complete retrospect. Breakdowns are reserved and songwriting is truly cleverly mature and melodic all throughout. I never gave this band the slightest chance due to the stigma around them, but I can in confidence admit I am now a fan of Texas in July.
The Paramedic The Devil in Me
In retrospect, album aged very well. It was surely the first step to their frightful demise leaving behind something that was truly special (Apollo). But, it still has great hooks and the synths surely aren?t that deplorable. Also, crabcore ages like fine wine. So! I?m very confident in locking this in as as 3.5

Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! Gone Are The Good Days
Pretty delightful album if I'm being honest. Album starts off slow and then picks up with some
really pleasant moments. The overall tone of the album is uncertainty and gloom. Lyrically, it
seems to talk about the sting of nostalgia. Pretty cool and sad considering this genre of music is
pretty much dead. Cons: Vocalist sounds bored or at least out of his comfort zone. As I mentioned
before, this genre is pretty much dead, so the band seems to have a hard time balancing the
remains of the whole easycore/metalcore thing and the big melting pot of confusing influences they
were aiming for in this record.
Counterparts Heaven Let Them Die
After stripping any hardcore tropes the band had left, Counterparts treads into this
sorta beatdown territory disregarding the fact that there is already a dedicated side
project for exactly that. Even if it is objectively good, loses my respect as a sad attempt
to be trendy.

Dr. Dre 2001
Dr. Dre's 2001 sparked a new brand of Hip-Hop music that would reign supreme for the next decade in a half, which is indeed impressive. But what isn't impressive is how tasteless this album is. But nonetheless, it is a fun listen once in a blue moon, just like any other guilty pleasure.

Emarosa Versus
Fit for a King Deathgrip
Some great tracks, but not a fan of the slow paced chugging territory they were wandering off to. Dead Memory, Cold Room, and We Are All Lost are some of the best tracks of their career, and it's the rooted fast paced modern metalcore sound that they're best at. Feels like they're trying to ease their way into a new boring conservative metal makeup.
Gold Necklace Gold Necklace
Kurt Travis is an amazing vocalist. Hell, probably my favorite singer of all time. But, listening
to thirty minutes straight of just his falsetto is strenuous. Instrumentally, it's sounds like
they took mathcore and watered it down to the point where it sounds midwestern emo.

Step in the right direction. It's just too bad they took too many freaking erratic steps backwards
on their last three albums? Maybe four? Who the heck knows.

Also, what I find silly is that some tracks rule hard but mid song when they build up and hype you
up to what you assume would be a nice breakdown, they instead ditch it and do some weird random
shit. I understand you don't want to be cliche but just stick to what you're good at.

PVRIS Hallucinations
Stolas Allomaternal
You will find some real exciting moments on here, but in all honesty, it's hidden behind this vast lackluster and quite boring sound that made up their debut. It just might be worth your time to listen to a more consistent band.
Time, The Valuator How Fleeting, How Fragile
Too Close to Touch For Keeps
I?m ashamed of the lack of attention put into this final installment of one of the best bands the genre has seen. If I had it my way, I would have added some of the wonderful singles that never found a home (Burn, Leave You Lonely.) But yeah, the high points on this record are soaring, but rest of the album seems wonky when they?re filtered out with quite frankly demos. Kudos to Telle for complimenting beautifully on his song. Rest In Peace, Keaton.
We Came As Romans Cold Like War
I'm curious as to why they ditched Dave Stephens on cleans when he did a pretty darn good job on
prior album. Regardless, the band shockingly reinvents itself with some really well executed heavy
breakdowns and technicality. Unfortunately, they seems a little disconnected as the album
struggles to be cohesive with confusing experimental production and 80s-esque clean choruses most
likely provoked by Kyle. Still a solid attempt nonetheless.
