Where The Valley saw them adding more cleans in two or three tracks and turning upside down the Deathcore world, this just fucking shatters the mold of the genre and put Whitechapel closer to the sound of modern Progressive Rock/ Metal and Alternative Metal bands than anything. While I think that The Valley had a thicker atmosphere that just made it very unique and memorable, Kin achieve these results by being a more diverse album, by being MUCH more melodic (Phil vocals are a thing of beauty) and by wearing some Classic Rock/ Classic Metal/ Southern Rock influence on its sleeve. Really great effort by the boys, and while I think reviews for this one may become very divisive and that this is a grower, I like it a great deal on first listen.
