Not all of us are cut out to write music, but at least we have artists like them who can fill that space to a degree. This trilogy has been an amazing treatment of grief and loss. They didn't just devote a piece or two to the subject, packaged it up, and moved on; they have sat with it for several years now, and let the listeners in on the process. They are well able to translate emotional space into often-lyricless music, and while they can go "dark", this series has never felt that way. It has felt sacred, as real emotion, both highs and lows, is.
