5.0 classic
Aly and AJ Ten Years
Anberlin Cities
this album is so good it's criminal. not only are the songs themselves good, but they work perfectly in the context of the record.
Brave Saint Saturn The Light of Things Hoped For...
this might be the most nostalgia-influenced 5.0 i've ever given, but this album literally changed my taste in music.
Children 18:3 Children 18:3
I think this might be the best pop-punk record ever made. It thrives on its own momentum- like a freight train barrelling out of control.
Copeland Eat, Sleep, Repeat
This is one of the prettiest records ever made. the string arrangement on "cover what you can" is one of the best pieces of pop music ever made.
David Crowder Band Church Music
this is one of about two worship records (both by this band) that have actually surprised me. this is a smart worship album. and there aren't many of those.
David Crowder Band A Collision Or (3 + 4 = 7)
this is the best worship album ever made. it wears its bright eyes and sufjan stevens influences on its sleeve. (though it also clearly pulls from u2 and radiohead in equal measure.) the audacity to make a concept album out of a worship album in 2005 is one of the bravest moves a worship band has ever pulled. this is the album that showed me there was better music than chris tomlin.
Death Cab for Cutie Plans
controversial opinion maybe, but i think this is death cab at their best. they do everything right on this album.
Five Iron Frenzy Five Iron Frenzy 2: Electric Boogaloo
Fleetwood Mac Rumours
fun. Aim and Ignite
House Of Heroes The End Is Not the End
Jimmy Eat World Bleed American
Joyce Manor Never Hungover Again
mewithoutYou A to B: Life
I pretended to hate mewithoutyou for too long. Are they a little pretentious? Yeah. Are they inaccessible? Probably. But is this album amazing? Absolutely. Weiss is one of the most talented writers of all time, and the band behind him creates one of the most interesting hardcore-influenced indie rock sonic landscapes of all time.

This iteration of The Earthquakes is certainly more fun and folky than the original. And it's for the best. These are some of Thiessen's best songs ever.

I think this is Jarrod's funniest album to date. Not only that, but I think it's the most musically interesting thing he's done too.
Carly Rae Jepsen Emotion: Side B
Oh, so even the stuff that got cut from Emotion was excellent? Good grief Carly. Let someone else have a turn being the queen of pop.
Carly Rae Jepsen Dedicated
The Queen of Canada returns with another great pop record. While not quite reaching the heights of "Emotion," this record is excellent. All the singles are 100% worth your time, as well as "Everything He Needs" and "Want You In My Room."

The Bell Jar I Infest, Therefore I Am
If you loved Showbread, you'll love this. Short, bitter, and violent, this album is an interesting debut. Hoping for more records from this group.

!!! Let It Be Blue
A Kiss Could Be Deadly A Kiss Could Be Deadly
this album seems really confused about what it wants to be. are they synthpop? electro-pop? sometimes they sound like they want to be the sounds or maybe metric. other times it's panic! at the disco or anberlin. very weird mish-mash of 2000s sounds that doesn't really develop. the mix is also hot trash.
A Path Less Traveled From Here On Out
really getting the vibe that these guys liked underoath.

If the last two songs had been cut, this album would've jumped to a 3.5 for me.
As It Is Okay
it's like they wrote two great songs and then just kind of forgot to make the rest of the album interesting.
Attack Attack! Attack Attack!
Beyonce I Am... Sasha Fierce
There aren't any bad songs on this album... but there's also no fantastic ones. This album is a little silly, but inoffensive.

Fall Out Boy Lake Effect Kid

I wish this album could decide if it's gonna be fun or be serious. It tries to be both and just ends up being generic.

Jonas Brothers Happiness Begins
About 50% of this record is really really good. It's clear that Nick's leading this band right now, which is sort of a shame because I much prefer Joe's funkier songwriting.

2.0 poor
Acceptance Lost for Words
All Time Low Three Words to Remember in Dealing With The End
All Time Low are best as a bratty, glossy pop-punk band. This EP tries too hard to be serious.
All Time Low Future Hearts
One or two good songs on the release. Most of it feels like filler or B-sides from other albums.
Arctic Monkeys The Car
Ariana Grande Positions
Attack Attack! Someday Came Suddenly
This album deserves a 1 but I can't give it that because I kind of really love it.
bl00dwave Distance
Vaporwave was a goofy trend and this album is the epitome of a boring Vaporwave release.
blink-182 Cheshire Cat
It's like if you listen to Dude Ranch but without the one good song that album had.
blink-182 Dude Ranch
If I could hear a version of this album without any of Tom's voice on it, maybe I'd like it.
blink-182 California
Crowder American Prodigal
this is the first release from any of crowder's projects that i've struggled to finish. it's not a very interesting album. it's just mom music.
Dc Talk Free at Last
I don't have nostalgia for this album, so it feels really hokey and corny.
Demi Lovato Unbroken
Unbroken is a great record to put on when you really need a nice, overlong nap.
EAT ME RAW XALBUMX
Eleventyseven And The Land of Fake Believe
I like Eleventy. But this album just isn't very good, and they'll admit that. It's very immature and it definitely takes itself too seriously.
Fall Out Boy Save Rock and Roll
If I ever hear "My Songs Know..." again, I'm gonna jump off a bridge.
Falling Up Crashings
It's genuinely incredible how much better this band got as they went on.
Family Force 5 The Family Force 5 Christmas Pageant
more like the family force 5 CRINGEmas pageant ayyyyyyyyy. "my favorite things" is really the only great track.
Family Force 5 Dance or Die with a Vengeance
Farewell Run It Up the Flagpole
Five Iron Frenzy Upbeats and Beatdowns
I love FIF. And I loved this album in high school. But outside of a few tracks, it's borderline unlistenable.
Forever the Sickest Kids Underdog Alma Mater
This is such a cornball album. It's everything I remember about scene kids in one concise package.

Oh no oh no oh no. This album is not fun. It holds absolutely none of the charm of their debut. I like the singles and nothing else.

Relient K All Work & No Play
Say Anything Anarchy, My Dear
Screaming Lord Sutch Lord Sutch and Heavy Friends
Superchick Beauty From Pain
Superchick Last One Picked
this is so corny that it's hard not to love it. the lyrics are painfully on-the-nose.
Taylor Swift Reputation
like most taylor albums, it's overlong. it suffers from truly atrocious lyrics and some bad features. however, there are a couple gems scattered around.
The Beach Boys Little Deuce Coupe
The Front Bottoms I Hate My Friends
this is whiny, sloppy, and boring. but i guess the kids like that, so this band blew up.
The O.C. Supertones Loud and Clear
The Spill Canvas Conduit
Underoath Cries Of The Past
this is bad, but it's not awful. i actually do like the weird song structures. i just wish there was more variance in the instrumentals.
Underoath Act Of Depression
i get why a lot of people would like this, but it just does not appeal to me.
Underoath Erase Me
I guess I get why Underoath made this album the way they did, but that doesn't make it interesting or good.
Weezer SZNZ: Summer

1.5 very poor
5 Seconds of Summer Youngblood
Why would you stretch an album this boring out for this long?
A Moment's Worth Start Where You Are
Aaron Gillespie Anthem Song
Knowing now that Gillespie didn't enjoy being a worship leader, it's pretty clear why this record is so bad.
Abandon All Ships Abandon All Ships!
All Time Low Dirty Work
This album isn't good. They tried to change up the formula, but nobody wanted it.
Anberlin Nevertake
Attack Attack! Dark Waves
Avril Lavigne Love Sux

Yeah, this is't very good. The David Crowder*Band cover is especially egregious.
blink-182 Nine
Boston Manor Datura
Eleventyseven Basic Glitches
Everdown Straining
Everyday Sunday Wake Up! Wake Up!
This is a perfect example of a cash-grab Christian band. There is no passion, there is no drive, and everyone involved in this album seems happier doing other things.
Fall Out Boy M A N I A
Every song on this album is a miserable experience. Fall Out Boy basically returned to emo here- they certainly made me depressed.
Family Force 5 ReAnimated
Did Family Force 5 try? Did anyone try? RAC tried. He failed, but at least he tried.
Hawk Nelson Saturday Rock Action
Hawk Nelson used to be a Nickleback ripoff. It's really a good thing they changed genres.
Hawk Nelson Crazy Love
Hawk Nelson really tried to be a pop-punk band again on a couple tracks, but they were past their prime at this point.
Hot Chelle Rae Whatever
I actually kinda like Tonight Tonight, but none of the other songs are remotely as fun or catchy.
Justin Bieber Justice
Kanye West Jesus Is King
Katy Perry Witness
Katy Perry isn't woke. And it's not fun to listen to her pretend she is.
Katy Perry Smile
KJ-52 It's Pronounced Five Two
yeah this album isn't funny. or fun to listen to. or interesting.
Metro Station Metro Station
Miley Cyrus Bangerz
There's a good album in here somewhere. But it's surrounded by so much sloppy garbage that it can't shine through.
My Chemical Romance I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love
This album is such a mess. All the songs sound the same, they're all too long, and the production is too sloppy to even be charming.
Newsboys Born Again
This is some of the most generic "music" I've ever heard. The bastardization of Jesus Freak is really horrible.
Owl City Coco Moon
No coincidence that the 3 shortest songs on the album are also the best ones. Making a song really long doesn't mean it's good!
Panic! at the Disco Pray for the Wicked
Brendon Urie can sing really high. But he shouldn't. These songs are written to show off his range- and it's supremely irritating.
Pencey Prep Heartbreak in Stereo
Simple Creatures Strange Love
This is so b o r i n g. Both Mark and Alex are capable of writing interesting songs, but I guess they both decided not to do it on this EP.
Stellar Kart We Can't Stand Sitting Down
This album isn't fun. It isn't memorable. And it isn't good.
Taylor Swift The Life of a Showgirl
Quite bad, unfortunately. The first 3 tracks are promising but it falls off steeply after them. Somehow every song is 80bpm. It feels like a contemporary Christian album but instead of God it's about how she hates other women and just learned to swear two days ago.
The Cab Whisper War
This is one of the cringiest albums ever made, I think. However- there was definitely effort put into it. They tried.
The O.C. Supertones Adventures Of The O.C. Supertones
Ska is cringey as is, but add in some shoehorned lyrics about Jesus and the track "O.C. Supertones" and this album is a goofy mess.
The Smashing Pumpkins ATUM: Act I
The Smashing Pumpkins ATUM: Act II
Underoath The Place After This One
Value Pac Down & Out
Sputnik requires at least 50 characters per sound off, but I can't hit that with this album because it's so boring.
Weezer Hurley
Every time I listen to this album, I get a splitting headache.
Weezer Pacific Daydream
This sure is an album and it sure does exist. I guess.
Weezer The Black Album
please papa rivers do not curse. it does not work. at all.
Weezer Van Weezer
Windsor Airlift The Basement EP
YUNGBLUD YUNGBLUD

All Time Low Last Young Renegade
I think All Time Low have run their course. This attempt to capitalize off the 80s nostalgia hype train fails hard. The title track is the only real redeeming moment on the album.
All Time Low Tell Me I'm Alive
Attack Attack! If Guns Are Outlawed, Can We Use Swords?
Crazy Crazy Awesome Awesome Truth
The Truth is that this album sounds like it was produced with a blender.
Cute Is What We Aim For Same Old Blood Rush With A New Touch
this album is so drab and boring that it actually made me angry.
Cute Is What We Aim For Rotation
the app "sleep cycle" records my snoring, but at least i didn't release it as an album.
Death Cab for Cutie The Georgia EP
Family Force 5 III
i loved this album in high school. i was a dumb kid.
Fleetwood Mac Time
Hawk Nelson Riding Around the Park (SWISH Album)
almost all of the songs are over 7 minutes long. absolutely none of them need to be.
Justin Bieber Changes
Justin Timberlake Man of the Woods
i'll give the team behind this record this: they tried. it's evident that they tried. but this vision just doesn't work. it comes off laughable and silly.
Michael W. Smith Worship
Michael W. Smith Worship Again
Owl City Mobile Orchestra
What a mess. I understand why it would be appealing to make this album- with no connection between songs- but it's not fun to listen to at all.
Panic! at the Disco Viva Las Vengeance
Star Wars Christmas in the Stars
Taylor Swift The Taylor Swift Holiday Collection
Look, I love Taylor Swift and I love Christmas music, but this is pure schlock. There is nothing fun and jolly about this mistake of an EP.
These Hearts Forever Ended Yesterday
this album is so bad that it's good. it's honestly worth a listen.
Various Artists (Punk) Rock Sound Presents: The Black Parade
Weezer Make Believe
i highly recommend this album. it has saved many of the wood surfaces in my home from getting that gross ring on them when you set your drink down.
Weezer Raditude
there is one good song on this album. i hoped the rest would at least be so-bad-it's-good, but they're just B A D.
