5.0 classic
Glenn Branca The Ascension
I mean not only did this guy invent no wave but he changed the face of noise rock, post-punk, math rock forever. I think it wouldn't be too much a stretch to say he was an early influence for mathcore too.
James Ferraro Live at Primavera Sound 2012
This piece is the epitome of life. Completely and utterly transcendental. James Ferraro might have accidentally created such a piece, since this was mostly just him messing with a loop, synth, and samples, yet somehow the simple improvisation and hypnotic repetition just evoke something spiritual, feeling which climaxes when James introduces the most abrupt but most effective break I've heard. There is nothing, but everything.
Machine Girl Neon White OST 1 - The Wicked Heart
I genuinely haven't heard a better video game OST yet. Machine Girl absolutely killed it on here, and we can clearly hear how much passion went into the project, and overall this is one of their best creations.
Meshuggah Nothing
Completely alien, jazzy, forward-thinking, and most of all: COLOSSAL.
Meshuggah Chaosphere
Chaosphere was, and still is, a pioneering album and one of the most intense experiences in metal music, years after it came out.
tirestires shadowdog
fuck it, cumburger and one of the best albums ever.
Widdly 2 Diddly LISA: The Painful Original Soundtrack
The only reason my score is so high for this OST is because of "Work Harder".

4.5 superb
Acid Bath When the Kite String Pops
I dare you to rate this album less than 3.5. Come on, I dare you!
Animals As Leaders Animals as Leaders
Artillery By Inheritance
A crown jewel of 1990's technical thrash, complete with excellent melodic work, sick ass riffs, a gnarly bass, amazing drumming, and crystalline production as the cherry on top. Anyone getting into thrash needs to hear this asap
Coroner Mental Vortex
Das Racist Sit Down, Man
Death Individual Thought Patterns
Death Grips The Money Store
Death Grips No Love Deep Web
Exhorder Slaughter in the Vatican
Gorguts Obscura
Hella Hold Your Horse Is
chaotic melodic drumming combined with borderline insane riffs makes for a fun time
Meshuggah Re-Nothing
Meshuggah obZen
I don't think there is a better consecration of their sound for most of the songs (This Spiteful Snake is kind of awkward and boring save for a couple riffs). Sprinkled in this record you'll find mechanical precision, angular rhythmics, cold and sterile production, furious walls of sound, and more.
Meshuggah Koloss
Grooves a metric ton, and extremely efficient. A masterclass in feel and minimalism from the crazy Swedes.
Meshuggah Destroy Erase Improve
The blueprint album for some of the most innovative music ever created.
Ulcerate Everything Is Fire
some of the most interesting death metal i've had the pleasure of listening to. i particularly enjoy the band's melodic bleakness and abrasive grooves. perhaps the only problem are some far-fetched transitions and the uniformly complex style/expression throughout the album.

4.0 excellent
Anata Under a Stone With No Inscription
very underrated band in the grand scheme of things. their musical structures don't necessarily flow with each other, but the fantastic riffs the band plays more often than not make up for it.
Animals As Leaders The Joy of Motion
Boards of Canada Geogaddi
Breach Venom
Buckethead Colma
And before I thought I'd never love acoustic guitars...
Burial Untrue
Burial Kindred
Carpenter Brut Trilogy
Expert songwriting + great production + dark grittiness coupled with funky swagger = Album to re-listen to for decades.

Dante Mars Ajeto! Celebrating Digital Artefacts
Picture death's dynamic shroud.vmw. Now picture an artist who takes his experiments rrfurther, with an actual "narrative" to boot. That's when you get Dante Mars Ajeto's rr'Celebrating Digital Artefacts'. Now yes, it has a few flaws of transition and redundant rr"glitching", but goddamn, this is fucking fantastic. In a nutshell, it's "take one catchy rrbit from a corporate pop song and magnify it to a higher level all the while adding rrexperimentation", and it works flawlessly. The textural work is NOT lacking, it's rrmemorable and catchy, production is clearly in the hands of a skilled rindividual, highly renjoyable, quirky and unique, has tons of replay value, great tracklist, groovy, really, rthere is almost no negative I can observe in rthis. Even the classic cheesy vaporwave rconcept is followed to the point of parody(which rwas most probably intended). You're very rwelcome Bedex.rFav tracks: 1, 3, 4, 6, 9, 10, 13, 15, 19.r

Hiatus Kaiyote Mood Valiant
Illogic Celestial Clockwork
Insect Warfare World Extermination
a standout grindcore album full of ear-smashing aggressiveness and sick riffs
James Ferraro Suki Girlz
Keiichi Okabe Nier Automata OST
We like it here. At times, beautiful and comfortable, others energetic and dark.
Kou Machida Dotera Iyatsura
What is there to be said really? This work is transcendental in the way that at the end of it you're like "..................................................................................yes"
Mammal Hands Captured Spirits
Insane album. Reminds you of the light breeze of the sea in just a few notes.
Melt-Banana Fetch
Sandwell District Feed-Forward
Snakefinger Chewing Hides The Sound

Classy, slick music, to complement the goofiest multiplayer FPS I've played.

This is how you make boss music in the realm of vaporwave x ambient.
Telepath and Hong Kong Express 愛慕 / 悲哀
Test Dept. Beating the Retreat
Thought Industry Mods Carve the Pig
Tigran Hamasyan Arratha Rebirth: Red Hail
Awesome album chock full of interesting ideas, combining armenian folk, jazz, and mathy metal-isms into an at times explosive, other times serene soundscape. However, with how dense the album is and how long the tracks run for, i'd still say this album is best enjoyed in small parts rather than a full uninterrupted journey.
Violent Dirge Elapse
this is definitely one of the better tech death albums ive heard. extremely tight, precise, gnarly, noisy, and aggressive, just the way i like it.
Yat-kha Yenisei Punk
Album is actually bussing. Mongolian folk fused with rock is a good idea for sure.

This didn't age quite so well but it remains a masterful work of art in the realm of electronic music.
Black Moth Super Rainbow Dandelion Gum
Burial Truant/Rough Sleeper
Celldweller Celldweller
Clubroot Clubroot
Dalis Car The Waking Hour
i like a lot of this album's aspects but it's overly long at points and there are moments
that don't work as well as they could. def a quirky albeit cheesy little bop.
Dante Mars Ajeto! Life Enterprises
Certainly fun, but unfortunately Dante tends to fall in some of the pitfalls of future funk.
Darren Korb Bastion OST
Death Grips Year of the Snitch
Death Grips Government Plates
downy Mudai (7)
Drab Majesty Modern Mirror
Honestly this is feckin great. Super fap material for my ears.
Eminem The Eminem Show
Estradasphere It's Understood
There are stupid or overblown moments on this, but first of all, it's still über fun, and
overall this filled my craving for weird Balkanian prog pretty well.
Fabio (Hard Set), April '94
When Cyclotron gives it a 3.0, you know it's great.
Failure Fantastic Planet
I used to think this had too much filler. I was dumb. The songwriting admittedly isn't the best, and there is a minor difference in quality between the first and second half, but otherwise that's it. This album is most certainly a great 90s rock album, full of grunge bangers with a unique twist you'll only ever hear from Failure. Saying it's worth a listen would be an understatement.
Fear Factory Demanufacture
Floating Points Crush
Four Tet Rounds
Fractalize Prophet of Despair
Fractalize Immersion
Frank Zappa Hot Rats
Fredrik Thordendal's Special Defects Sol Niger Within
loses steam around the 20-30 minute mark, but overall a fine, psychedelic metal/jazz fusion journey into the void.
Gareth Coker Ori and the Will of the Wisps
We like it here. Cozy, warm, colorful, grand, splendid, easygoing, at times somber, but ralways, always beaming with emotion.

Angelic voice with proficient guitar playing and a serene live ambience.
Invocator Weave The Apocalypse
Jake Bowen Isometric
The intricately knit compositions sure are impressive, and the production is excellent! rIt doe suffers from a few minor flaws, but otherwise a consistent album.
Joe Hisaishi Princess Mononoke
goddamit why is it that I am so inexplicably trapped in the emotion of Joe Hisaishi's melodies? First time I listened to the FIRST track, I was on the verge of crying. And the impossibly strong nostalgia I have from watching the film does not help. In a good way.rEdit: damn this grew off me pretty hard but still an epic album
Joe Hisaishi Castle In The Sky
Joe Hisaishi Spirited Away
Krzysztof Komeda Astigmatic
La Femme Psycho Tropical Berlin
This is pretty great but the lyrics can get a little over-the-top.
Lakker Tundra
Lamb of God Ashes of the Wake
better than most 'elitist-approved' metal i've heard.
Machine Girl U-Void Synthesizer
Machine Girl ...BECAUSE I'M YOUNG ARROGANT AND HATE EVERYTHING
Marilyn Manson Antichrist Superstar
Massive Attack Mezzanine
Mega Drive 198XAD
Ahhhhh, Mega Drive. You produce absolute bangers, and your influence within synthwave is
almost equivalent to artists like Perturbator or Carpenter Brut; yet somehow, your
songwriting skills are mediocre at best.
Merzbow Dharma
Meshuggah I
Meshuggah The Violent Sleep of Reason
Four duds on here but the rest is absolutely stellar.
Meshuggah Contradictions Collapse
Possibly the most underrated Meshuggah album. "Sickening", "Humiliative" and "Ritual" are clear highlights.
Michael Gordon Trance
A bit too predictable at times, but otherwise this is a finely made, weird as fuck record.
Michael Jackson Thriller
Genuinely great, tons of fun, catchy songwriting, Billie Jean taking the crown for the best
on the album, but unfortunately there is also a lot of filler, namely on Wanna Be Starting
Something with its overly repetitive structure.
Michael Jackson Off the Wall
Mick Gordon Doom OST
"Just sounds like robots and laser sounds, not really music imo and DEFINITELY not
metal,it's more like heavy techno/industrial idk,is rubbish the correct term?"

Crikey mate this is bloody long but it has ambient bops for sure.
Nookie Beyond Blue
Perturbator New Model
Phronesis The Behemoth
Polyphia New Levels New Devils
Porcupine Tree In Absentia
I would totally give this a higher rating if the band didn't include so much filler moments. Overall a pretty great album, though, I like the pop-rock direction, it can feel bland, but PT are so utterly and fantastically good at making infectious prog-pop numbers that it covers up the radio friendliness automatically.

3.0 good
Aesop Rock The Impossible Kid
Akhlys Melinoe
brutal album, quite nice to put on when I'm looking for a purely evil and somber album, but otherwise I don't think i'll listen to this album that often, it's good but there's nothing musically that will keep me coming back forever.

Burial Tunes 2011 to 2019
Idk man but honestly the first half felt weak as shit. Not the bestest selection but hey at least there's Kindred and shit.
C Z A R I N A Painted Holograms
Innovative synthwave, seamlessly blending an eclectic range of styles into one shimmering,
tight, and colorful package, with great performances and top-notch production. However,
despite a great vocal performance, the vocals are not for everyone, and the lyrics are...
cliche, to say the least. Additionally, I felt there were some inconsistencies in the
songwriting. Just my opinion though.
Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band Trout Mask Replica
Eh. Pretty gud but, without wanting to sound like a wanker, it's not as great as people make it out to be.
Casiopea Casiopea
Hmmm. Catchy jazz fusion, with high technical proficiency. The easy listening side to it does make it cheesy though.
Chuck Person Chuck Person's Eccojams Vol. 1
Along with "Far Side Virtual" and "Floral Shoppe" among others, this proto-vapor album was one of the cores which fueled Vaporwave's initial growth. A few of the ideas aged badly over the course of the genre's evolution, but, just like the other proto-vapor releases, its existence will forever be essential in music history.
clipping. There Existed an Addiction to Blood
Dark Soho Combustion
Super consistent dark psytrance. This album may be a deja-vu, but it rcompensates with its perfectly orchestrated atmosphere and its catchy flair. Definitely ran overlooked trance artist in the underground.

Joe Hisaishi Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
Aaaaaaand the first track made me have insane feels again. Joe Hisaishi's needs to take

Meshuggah Catch Thirtythree
there are a lot of fantastic musical ideas on this, but unfortunately they are divided by overbearingly trite riffs and ambient passages. Nonetheless, big props for "Entrapment" and almost everything after "In Death - Is Life".
Meshuggah Immutable
Immutable has mainly high points, but unfortunately a couple uninspired ideas make this an another inconsistent Meshuggah album, like TVSOR.
Michael Jackson Bad
Considerably worse than Thriller, although it's definitely still better than Dangerous.
Myss Keta Una vita in capslock
idk what to think about this. it's boring, and at the same time pretty fun. I'll give it a
3.0 cuz I can't make up my mind.

Damn bro. Great "blackgaze" release over here, with a nice little Shinto-influenced concept as a cherry on top. However... this lacks originality. There is some, but not enough. rEdit: lmao i dont fucking know why I thought this was any better than a guilty pleasure
American Sharks American Sharks
Animals As Leaders Parrhesia
Extremely mid album, which is a pain for me to say because some ideas on here are quite enjoyable. It's just that those positives are brought down by genuine black holes of creativity throughout the whole album.
Bjork Homogenic
Bjork back at it again but with more overdone electronic/art pop tropes and somehow even more pretentious sounding vocal lines. Idk her voice irritates me half the time. Hopefully Bjork grows on me but it's genuinely hard men.

Only reason I gave this a 2.5 and not a 2.0 is because "Run" is an above average track. Other than that, not a particularly remarkable album.

probably one of the most boring thrash albums i've ever heard. utterly featureless save for some cool riffs and passages, but yeah otherwise completely standard "prog" thrash.
Xentrix For Whose Advantage?
this album is pretty damn boring let's be honest

2.0 poor
Coal Chamber Coal Chamber
Kidorikko Kidorikko
When you hear the vocals, you instantly realize why this album was stuck in the most obscure parts of the underground. Instrumentals are glossy and mostly compelling, but the vocals are so sweet and nasal it could turn you diabetic.
Limp Bizkit Significant Other
Michael Jackson Dangerous
Tasteless, yawn-inducing pop. From the King Of Pop to the King Of Poop (thank you ladies and gentlemen that joke took a lot of effort). In a way the album title is correct about its songs, most of them are dangerous for your ears' wellbeing.
Powerman 5000 Tonight the Stars Revolt
Primus The Brown Album
Red Hot Chili Peppers The Red Hot Chili Peppers

i used to think this was patton-core, not at all, it's just mainstream deftones i guess? it's kind of just bland and inoffensive.
Slipknot All Hope Is Gone
Slipknot .5: The Gray Chapter
TesseracT Altered State
there is nothing special or interesting about this. the whole album is literally just
pretentious and outdated """""""""prog metal"""""""""""(more like over-the-top pop rock if
I'm gonna be real here) that amounts to nothing more than commercial music for those who are
insecure about their taste and who don't know any better. I guess it's catchy and fun at
times?

Periphery Periphery II: This Time It's Personal
I find it beyond hilarious that anyone finds this glorified pop rock somehow more engaging and forward-thinking than any of the music from the progenitors of the genre. Just yikes, this is even worse than Tesseract, which is saying a lot. I can't believe that this horrid display of blandness was ever trendy within the prog metal community.
Sleep Token Sundowning
yeah just another generic pop band adding boring djent riffs as an afterthought cause they dont know how to sound interesting. god i hate patton-core.
The Varacious Ones Vacuous
Album is traaaaaaaaaaash. Outdated, vapid, uninteresting. Production is extremely inconsistent as well.

Minus K Minus K
Absolutely pathetic attempt at making "music". What the fuck. Mind-numbing, amateurish,
zero inventivity, subpar performance, horrid production. I wish I could call this a "so
bad it's good" album, but it's so devoid of everything that it just ends up being a whole
lot of (mediocre) nothing. Null. Nada. Rien. Nichts. Niets. How many more languages do I
need to say this in?
