5.0 classic
Children of Bodom Follow the Reaper
Cynic Focus
Never before have I described an album that features elements of tech-death as "dreamy" but that perfectly applies with this album. It's immensely experimental with noticeable jazz influences, and it's just so god-damn original; nothing like this existed before it, yet it's so ahead of its time.
Death The Sound of Perseverance
Death Symbolic
A masterpiece in tech/melodic death metal. There's nothing I can say about this album that hasn't already been said; just go listen to it if you haven't already.
Death Human
Eminem The Marshall Mathers LP
Iron Maiden Powerslave
Iron Maiden The Number Of The Beast
Iron Maiden Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son
Megadeth Rust In Peace
Metallica Master Of Puppets
Metallica Ride The Lightning
Metallica ...And Justice For All
Arguably Metallica's most love it or hate it release of all time. Given the rating, I clearly stand strongly on the "love it" side of the spectrum. Their most progressive-leaning album to date, and potentially their most emotionally fueled, given the deeply saddening passing of Cliff Burton.

4.5 superb

Death Individual Thought Patterns
Dream Theater Train of Thought
Eminem The Eminem Show
Eminem The Marshall Mathers LP 2
In Flames Whoracle
Iron Maiden Somewhere In Time
Marty Friedman Inferno
Megadeth Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?
Metallica Metallica
Metallica's self-titled (otherwise known as "The Black Album") marks a historic moment in heavy
metal history: metal bands gaining mainstream exposure, and later being called sell-outs because
they're no longer "underground." Although everything between The Black Album and Hardwired has
been panned by the majority of Metallica's entitled fanbase, this album has a lot to offer.
Besides the obvious Enter Sandman, Sad But True and Nothing Else Matters (all excellent tracks in
their own right) the tracks that truly shine are The Unforgiven and Wherever I May Roam, as well
as the criminally underrated tracks The God That Failed and Of Wolf And Man. If you live, breathe,
eat and shit thrash metal, this album may not be for you; but if you want heavy metal that can
show its soul, listen to this album front to back. I can almost guarantee that you'll love it.
Symphony X Paradise Lost
The Smiths The Queen Is Dead
Trivium Shogun
Total sucker for this album. Corey Beaulieu's guitar work is nothing short of incredible and Matt Heafy paying homage to his Japanese heritage through the lyrical theming is a very nice touch. The entire album is a highlight for me personally, but the absolute stand-out tracks are Kirisute Gomen, Torn Between Scylla and Charybdis, Down From The Sky, Throes of Perdition, Like Callisto to a Star in Heaven and Shogun.
Trivium The Sin and the Sentence
There isn't a bad track here; certainly their best release since Shogun. The Revanchist and Thrown Into The Fire are two of the best songs that they've ever penned. DO NOT FIRE ALEX BENT.

Arch Enemy Doomsday Machine
Children of Bodom Are You Dead Yet?
Eminem Recovery

3.0 good
All That Remains Victim of the New Disease
Arch Enemy Will to Power
Motionless In White Creatures
Motionless In White Reincarnate
Parkway Drive Reverence
Trivium The Crusade
Although some songs are directionless (looking at you "The Rising", although you're a fun track
nonetheless) this is a very enjoyable thrash metal album that gets way too much flack. I jam
Entrance of the Conflagration, Anthem (We Are The Fire) and the title track semi-regularly;
Entrance being one of my favourite Trivium songs.

2.5 average
Bad Wolves Disobey
Eminem Encore
Motionless In White Infamous
Motionless In White Graveyard Shift

2.0 poor
Disturbed Immortalized
I liked a few songs from this album when it came out. Then again, I was 13, coming on 14 when this album came out. Now it's just feels uninspired and a tad embarrassing. Fire It Up is a guilty pleasure, though.
Eminem Revival

1.0 awful
Metallica St. Anger
This album enrages me. The snare, the god-awful lyrics, whatever the fuck the guitars are doing...
Suicide Silence Suicide Silence
