| My expectations were very high for this album and they all came down crashing to a fiery death. After the 3 singles were released "G.O.A.T.", "O.D." and "Yas" were released, I expected a good album full of catchy songs with different approaches to Polyphia's new direction, characterized by trappy beats and Polyphia's trademark guitar play style. The guitar playing was great as always in this album. All I got going into the album were more forgettable versions of the aforementioned singles. Same feel, mostly same approach, even almost the same drum beat. While I was waiting for the songs to start, I was coming to an abrupt realization that each song was ending. Standout tracks besides the 3 singles include "Death Note"and... well that. I was left with wanting a lot more for an album that had the potential to be groundbreaking, but was very lukewarm instead. 2/5 |
