The Break and Repair Method Milk the Bee
I was really taken off guard by Milk The Bee. I had heard Paul Doucette sing in a few songs with Matchbox Twenty, like when they covered the Beatles "Bathroom Window" But he blew me away in this first solo outing. His vocals aren't as dynamic as Rob Thomas, but they're very endearing. He sounds gentle and genuine, but very passionate and at times throws in a bit of grit when necessary. From top to bottom is filled with catchy hooks and clever lyrics. I believe Paul puts it best, as he labels his own releases genre as "Pop Depression" It's engaging all the way through and finishes strong with the emotionally driven "The Most That Somebody Can Know" A wonderfully reflective song and a perfect ending to this extraordinary album.
