Oof this one'll have to be revisited again and again. Filled to the brim with great tracks waiting
to be further unpacked, with swirling melodies constantly pleasing your ears. Another winner for
CBP, and that's not even surprising by now.

Great stuff, it's like Katatonia meets Ghost Brigade with some really nice cleans and atmospheric production.

Bad Omens Finding God Before God Finds Me
It's more of the same from Bad Omens, with a few
more alt-rock leaning songs than on the debut.
It's a fun listen but I doubt it'll hold up as
well as the first album. However, those of you
looking for a Sempiternal-like metalcore jam won't
go wrong with this, especially since it's got some
of this band's heaviest stuff.

EDIT:
It's actually becoming even better with repeated
listens, damn might even bump the rating in the
future.

Dream On Dreamer It Comes and Goes
Good shit. They nail this alt-rock leaning sound, only to stick a bit too close to the formula throughout the album. It's still very good, even great, but probably won't be my personal AOTY. Still, prob will be listening to it for a while. Interesting fact: they kept the original mix for Don't Lose Your Heart and thank god for that.

I find this to be a step up from their debut, both instrumentally and production-wise. Vocals are spot on just like they were before. The sameness so often seen in this genre is also present here but the band manage to take well-worn cliches and make them effective with their emotional delivery. Long time since an album like this made me genuinely feel something.
Northaunt Horizons
Northaunt The Ominous Silence
Northaunt Barren Land
Northlane Alien
Better than other Marcus albums IMO. The emphasis
on electronics in most songs really works to the
band's benefit, whether they're pulsating and
lively (Eclipse, 4D) or suit a more ambient
purpose (Rift, Sleepless). A really pleasant
surprise considering their previous albums' style
kinda wore off me after a while.
Northlane Obsidian
Northlane's cyberpunk-core phase continues. I'm kind of out of my own metalcore-listening phase, but this brought me back to those times. Times when I was looking out for every next core album that hits the spot and bends genres the way I really wanted it to. Another win for Northlane in my book.

Solid stuff, the heavier sections wear it down but there are several songs that show the band's immense potential. I say they should lay off the djent and focus more on atmosphere, or at least find some new inspirations. Regardless, I'm eager to hear anything new from this band.

A step down from No Gospel IMO. That record had a beautiful post-rockish sound, and here they changed it for a more shoegaze inspired direction. It's still pretty good, but the production here seems worse, and I loved their old sound more.

Not as good as Saboteur, but it's still fairly interesting, even if it does get a bit exhausting in the second half. Coincidentally, that's where the best songs are located (Black Fire, Dissolve, Lavender), although none of them are outright bad. It's an industrial rock record which takes the industrial influences a bit too close to heart for my taste.

I've been waiting for this for a long time, but it proves to be a disappointment compared to Nexus. Props to Shayley for keeping the band afloat, even if his latest album lacks a lot of flair that made Nexus stand out. This has worse production and lyrics, and it contains several unmemorable filler songs. It's more in line with all the other standard post-hardcore/alt-rock albums that are a dime a dozen these days. Standout tracks are Spellbound, Pressure, Runaway and the biggest surprise of the album, closing track Tender Love. It's a detour into synthpop territory which I would have loved to hear more of.

I find this one to be OK but somehow bland and forgettable at the same time, hope it grows on me.

Not as bad as I thought it would be, judging from the singles. Red Clouds remains one of the most boring songs here, together with I Don't Mind which passes by without leaving any impression. At least half of the album belongs in the same arena as the latest BMTH, Asking Alexandria, Underoath etc., meaning these are easily digestible tracks complete with woah-oh background vocals. Some of these lighter songs are actually my favorites here (Why Am I Like This, Real Life, Run Away), but almost every other song lacks something to make it memorable. The guest features were totally unneeded IMO, especially on Human which is almost ruined by rapping. Overall, this is a fun album that is still too run-of-the-mill for such a talented band. Here's hoping it improves with repeated listens.

I wouldn't call this bad but it suffers from trying to be quirky and self-aware, as well as losing most of the melancholy atmosphere that carried Phantom Amour. I loved that record, so this one is a bit disappointing in comparison... I'm hoping it'll grow with more listens.

This is a good post-hardcore album but also mainstream and kinda stale after a while. It would benefit from more experimentation for sure. I'd put it in the same group as Imminence's latest album except that one felt a bit more fresh than this.

I mean I'm really f-ing tired of these damn heartbreak songs. Yeah, we get it, you're depressed because she left you or whatever, but a whole album of these is just too much. Otherwise this is relatively average compared to their debut, and unfortunately plays it too safe to be a memorable listen. It's not bad if you're into softer post-hardcore that the likes of blessthefall have been putting out, but yeah... please give us some more variety next time.
