| To start off, Atlas is my least favorite Parkway release...yes even below IRE (which I love). Atlas just seems to not flow as well as their previous releases like Horizons, and KWAS. Standout tracks for me are: Sleight of Hand, Blue and the Grey, Wild Eyes, Dark Days, Swing, The River, and Dream Run. I cannot quite put my finger on as to why this album is my least favorite, but it seems to be the hardest to get through for me personally. No song is bad, or skip worthy, but I find myself not enjoying this album as much as their other albums. Still recommended. |

| IRE may be a step away from the scene that made Parkway a household name in the metalcore community, but this album is a fantastic blend of traditional heavy metal and their distinct sound. The vocals are fantastic, both the bass, and lead guitars flow effortlessly together, and the drums sound as good as ever, however what this album does with the instruments is falters in the lyrical content. Some songs like Vice Grip, and Vicious seem to be filler tracks in order to take up space. That being said, both aforementioned songs are still good, and I jam them myself. True highlights from this album include: Bottom Feeder, Crushed, Dying to Believe, Dedicated, and The Sound of Violence. Overall, while not their best work, this album is definitely a must own for any metal fan. Parkway continues to release quality, and I am optimistic for Reverence in May, 2018. |
