Fall of Efrafa Elil
Fall of Efrafa Inle
ISIS Wavering Radiant
Kauan Wayhome
The 5 may shift back to a 4.5 over time rThis record spoke to me with its lush soundscapes, it reminded me of the sheer emotional depth and feeling that can be presented by music. This record is a journey and maybe i have not listened to the band enough, but this is beautiful work.
Messa The Spin
My Dying Bride The Dreadful Hours
My Dying Bride A Line of Deathless Kings

Opeth My Arms, Your Hearse
Panopticon The Rime of Memory
Paradise Lost Obsidian
Persefone Core
Psychonaut Unfold the God Man
Bumping to a 5 because this is just hitting all the right things for me at the moment. This album is excellently paced as well, my only complaint would be that thw opening track is a tad long for an instrumental opener. Thats just nit picking
State Faults Children of the Moon
The Callous Daoboys Celebrity Therapist

UGGA-Ugga-booga-uggarI dont really understand whats happening but i am here for it

Be'lakor Vessels
Bell Witch Mirror Reaper
Blut Aus Nord Ethereal Horizons
This has been a band ive found really hard to get into, Blut Aus Nord and Beautiful id something i didnt think id ever find myself pairing together but here we are. All my previous attempts with the band have been dissonant and more horror adjacent, so this was a delightful unexpectef suprise, so i guess ill be checking their other stuff

Didnt this have a review or was it purged ? Albums fantastic but knowing Alex this will mean the end of Morrow
Morrow (UK) The Quiet Earth
Mother (BE) II
Mother follows up their debut excellently with the one track monster of a record II
Mother (BE) I
Its a great piece of work thats melodic and melancholic or some other pretentious bullshit. Point is this things great
My Dying Bride Turn Loose the Swans
My Dying Bride Songs of Darkness, Words of Light
My Dying Bride A Map of All Our Failures
Ive been digging through their discog recently and this albums the one thats so far really just clicked for me and spoken to me. Atm this is the 5 for this bands incredible discography. It feels theatrical and epic
My Dying Bride The Light at the End of the World
Ne Obliviscaris Portal of I
Ne Obliviscaris Exul
Fuck me, this is a step up from Urn in many ways. Misericorde brings back elements from the Portal Of I era. Urn was a good record that translates well in a live setting but aside from Eyrie that record falls flat compared to the previous two and the standard NeO set for themselves.Exul has the band returning to form and reminding us what set them apart from other modern Prog-death metal bands
Novembre Words of Indigo
Oathbreaker Audiotree Sessions
Opeth Deliverance
Opeth Watershed
Opeth Still Life
Palm Reader Sleepless
A metalcore cocktail that hits all the right notes with Greg Pucatios british love child at the front
Paradise Lost The Plague Within
Paradise Lost Ascension
Ithis is a great album however its track layout is what brings it down. The first four tracks being singles as well as holding two of the longer tracks causes the album to be front loaded to hell as well the pacing for the album to be off. Lay a wreath is a good resting chill track for bridging both halves of the album but the problem is that everything after it doesnt go as hard as the first half. Salvation feels like it would be a closer or an album mid point high.
Poppy EAT (NXT Soundtrack)
Pothamus Raya
Yet more belgian magic. Seriously what is happening over there ? This Mother, Psychonaught, brutus and more have just been delivering
Psychonaut World Maker
Hell yeah this is feeling more proggy and more like the evoloution and continuation from Godman. While Violate consensus wasnt a bad album it lacked something that this and unfold the godman have
Rise Against The Sufferer and the Witness
Rolo Tomassi Time Will Die And Love Will Bury It
Saor Amidst the Ruins
Suldusk Anthesis
Svalbard The Weight of the Mask
Swallow the Sun Moonflowers
This is probably a 4.5 but this has stuck with me so much im slapping a 5 on it. Personal bias aside this record is bloody great i cant really pinpoint a bad section on this or even a dip in quality
The Dillinger Escape Plan Option Paralysis
The Dillinger Escape Plan Calculating Infinity
The Great Old Ones Kadath
The Great Old Ones Cosmicism
The Ocean Phanerozoic II: Mesozoic | Cenozoic
This is not what I was expecting at all. Its not bad, but perhaps im disapointed from being overhyped. A confusing album that will probably be a grower on more listens

A live and stripped down rendition of The Congregation. Which is an already fantastic record in its own right, doesnt suffer or lose anything in this rework by Einar. I wish more artists would do stripped down versions of their albums or songs as Eps or albums

La Dispute No One Was Driving the Car
La dispute return with renewed anger, fury and pain. One could say its rmore of the same melodramatic stuff and they have stagnated. However rthat would be wrong, La dispute is aging like wine becoming finer and rfiner as the years go by. No one was driving the car showcases that rflair of the dramatic found in earlier records combined with a more rmature and human view and tone. rThis could easily become the Album of the year, but as always with a rband like La dispute this album will be something that either clicks rjust right or you hate it with a passion

Belgians are just built different arent they? Seriously what are they drinking over there.
Opeth In Cauda Venenum
Opeth The Roundhouse Tapes
Opeth The Last Will and Testament
Mikaels raging hard on for 70s prog rock has given the death rmetal ex a second chance after the divorce. This time they have rboth grown and changed as time has passed, he is a bit wankier rand bolder and she is a bit rusty but still has her teeth. Their rchild the last will and rtestament displays qualities of both of rtheir growth and their time apart. Could it be called Progressive rdeath rock? The prog rock spunk that made it?

Panopticon ...Scars II (the basics)

Svalbard One Day All This Will End

Thou Umbilical
Umbilical sees Thou shift gears into a different approach to rtheir sound. Rather than the slower longer brand of sludge they rhave cultivated over the years. The Baton rouge band focuses on a rmore raw aggresive version of sludge with Punk tinges.rTldr: Its Thou what do you think? its fucking amazing

lowheaven Ritual Decay
Make Them Suffer Worlds Apart

Mourning Dawn The Foam of Despair
My Dying Bride For Lies I Sire
Low rung My Dying bride but after having it on repeat for most of the day its actually quite great. However its caught between two great records and is the awkward middle child. All that aside i can see why some dont like it

Opeth Heritage
Opeth Sorceress
Owls Woods Graves Strix
Paradise Lost Tragic Idol

Predatory Void Seven Keys To The Discomfort of Being
Bit samey here and there, but its still pretty darn great. Have to give it some more time. Also its fucking unreasonable how hard it was to get a digital copy of this
Stake Love , Death and Decay
Saw it was missing from the site, so added. Its good, I need more time to work out specifically how i rate it
SUMAC The Healer
Its good overall but meandering sections here and there. For me personally needs more focus rather than the improv.

Tomarum Beyond Obsidian Euphoria
Trenches Reckoner
Tzompantli Beating the Drums of Ancestral Force
Ulcerate Cutting the Throat of God
While this is still good death metal, I find it exhausting and that it blends together into a samey soup. Theres no doubting this band is talented and very good at what they do. i just do not understand the hype behind these guys, its not for me i guess
VOLA Witness
Witch Piss Witch Piss
Zao The Crimson Corridor

3.0 good
Amorphis Borderland
Is this a bad album? No it isnt, its good for what it is. The problem
is what it is is more of the same from Amorphis's last two records. Its
almost stagnant and they have settled into their own special little
rut. Which is fine if you love this sound and style but for me its a
bit stagnant. Its a bit of a miss for me sadly
Amorphis Halo
Architects All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us
Architects Holy Hell
This had no lasting power and grew off me hard. Barely come back to it at all. A lot of the songs blended together
Architects For Those That Wish to Exist
A bland and boring outing from Architects. The two heavier tracks discourse is dead and the winston feature are the better tracks on this
Converge Bloodmoon: I

2.5 average
Better Lovers God Made Me an Animal
On paper this should be amazing right? For some reason it falls short. This project could have a lot of potential but for its first outing this ep falls flat for me and I have no idea why, whether its gregs vocals not fitting with the ETID style
Counterparts A Eulogy for Those Still Here
Ghost Atlas Dust of the Human Shape
High Parasite Forever We Burn
Infant Island Obsidian Wreath
Theres room to grow for this band, i feel if they leaned more into longer atmospheric tracks and more varied vocals they would be onto something. The short tracks just feel aimless and are akin to filler
Katatonia Nightmares as Extensions of the Waking State
Katatonia by numbers and on auto piolet. Jonas's nightmares must be of grey paint
Motionless In White Scoring the End of the World
Rivers of Nihil The Work
Its alright, i think it will be a grower. One of the
issues is that this is a follow up to a very good album.
Which means expectations are high. Edit update:this is
not a grower. Its worse then i remembered
Spiritbox Tsunami Sea
Im not a big fan of this band, in fact ill admit i dont get the hype. However despite everything and anything i have said against the band in the past. This album is actually pretty decent, its good for what it is. I think the albums production choices bring it down considerably and in parts remove the albums teeth and reduce the impact some songs should have. rSo Ill happily admit I was wrong and judged the band too harshly
The Amity Affliction Misery
This is surprisingly good not amazing but its a solid release. It has some shitty tracks D.i.E and burn alive. Also ahren doesnt sound like a robot/bored unlike this could be heartbreak

2.0 poor
Architects For Those That Wish to Exist at Abbey Road
Gee this sylosis go fund me band pissed the bed here. Tldr: Sam sounds good, everything else is a muddled messrThis is not the record that should have had an orchestra or bombastic display that should have been All Our gods or maybe even Holy hell due to the emotional ties. rThis is only redeemable because of the lack of the horrible features and the fact that Sam sounds really good here, showcasing lows that should be recorded on a fucking album. The closer sounds good and is a highlight. The mix is muddy and everything gets lost, with the band mostly overshadowing the orchestra except in quieter moments, which defeats the whole purpose. The orchestra should have been incorporated more. Or not wasted on such a shit bloated record but here we are.
Architects The Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit
This is a weird record. Architects wear their poppy side on their sleeve here but it sort of works. This is a step up from the previous record. Maybe its just my soft spot for the band talking though
Bring Me The Horizon POST HUMAN: NeX GEn
This is edgy radio fodder music.Anything that may be good here is
buried beneath layers and layers of glitchy nonesense and chaos.
Also what is the actual mix with this ??? Its bizzare
Make Them Suffer How to Survive a Funeral
My Dying Bride 34.788%... Complete
Holy shit this album is rough,
pro: reeks of early 2000s amd good time
warp.
Cons: Track lengths are meandering and do not do anything that
warrents them. Heroin chic is possibly the worst song ive ever heard
from a band of this caliber, its almost like a parody of horny 2000s
lyrics. Did Aaron want to be here for this? He sounds bored, lyrics are
also really bad and cringey.

Alls i can say is thankfully they didnt
stay this path but i have to give them points for trying this was a
bold move
Northlane Mesmer
Northlane Alien
Electronic elements end up drowning out a lot of other parts. Lyrics kind of suck. Marcus's vocals are somewhat buried behind everythiny else and that causes them to lose a lot of the effect, low screams lose their impact and the clean sections of jinn lose the lighter more beautiful parts. Its not as bad as others have made it out to be. Its just middle of the road to me
Rivers of Nihil Rivers of Nihil
Rivers of MidrThis bands lost whatever worked for them with Owls and Monarchy. Old rvocalist had a unique tone to his vocals, the new guy just doesnt work rfor me. Everything feels generic and meh. Highlights water and time and rhouse of lightrAlso Gnocchi reffering to owls as their debut would probably be in line rwith it being the bands break out album.
Swallow the Sun Shining
This is not what i want from Swallow the sun. Overall the albums okay for what it is a poppy catchy album from them. Its diet take away Swallow the sun, its a bit shit but it does the job if you have a craving and dont want to put in the effort of a full experience
The Amity Affliction This Could Be Heartbreak
The Amity Affliction Everyone Loves You... Once You Leave Them
Ive heard it all before. Rinse and repeat rFirst four rtracks are decent, middles fucking awful and the ending ris just the same shit with another layer of paint.Born to rlose has a nice heavy riff and break down but its rrepeated all throughout the song and isnt expanded on.

1.5 very poor
A Day To Remember Big Ole Album Vol. 1
Big ole pile of shit, this time its semi solid unlike the liquid
shit that Your Welcome.

So congrats you beat the diarrhea ADTR! However you will always
have the shits because you cant get over the mean people of the
internet telling your new material sucks. Lyrically this is
pathetic repetitive and whining about critisicm. Musically its
just the normal poppy metalcore that they have been coasting on
for years without improvement or evolution.

Now lets get to the
biggest problem: a physical release first before digital,
normally this wouldnt be a problem. However after the train wreck
of their last album, the bitching about critics. This reeks of
taking peoples money before they can get rinsed by
listeners.Flowers is passable
Architects The Sky, the Earth & All Between
Jordan Fish-Core welcome to the Fish's parasitical empirerIm also
pretty easy on these guy usually. This has no soul

Update: Im the bitch
Bring Me The Horizon That's the Spirit
Parkway Drive Reverence
3 decent songs including wishing wells. This
albums an identity crisis, they say they
'outgrew' metalcore but it always creeps back
into almost every track. Prey is fucking awful
Rise Against Nowhere Generation

1.0 awful
A Day To Remember You're Welcome
Parkway Drive Darker Still
Just go listen to Callous daoboys or deathrattle sing to me instead. Dont bother with this shit
Sleep Token Take Me Back to Eden
Many ideas and a potential for a band that could be quite good if they dropped their metal side as it is easily the weakest link in this sound. Vocals feel layered behind many effects, lyrics are....well they are sure something. Parts of this feel clinical. There is no doubting they have talent, this isnt awful its just average. If you dig it enjoy it, if not your tried it and move on.
While She Sleeps Self Hell
Self hell is accurate this album is the opposite of self care. This band used to be solid af. I cannot begin to express my loathing for this piece of shit
