Armor For Sleep What To Do When You Are Dead
A seminal "emo"-pop album with a brooding concept surrounding death, regret, and reminiscing on a past relationship that went wrong. The dynamics of each song change enough to keep you engaged for ages. This is Armor for Sleep at their best; catchy, yet so, so dark.
At the Drive-In Relationship of Command
Converge Jane Doe
What more is to say about this masterpiece of an album that hasn't been said before? The catharsis is unreal. There's a reason it's borderline unintelligible at points. There's a reason for every part of this album being the way it is. It's not like they haphazardly constructed it to make a quick buck and get you people invested in it, no. They actually gave enough of a shit about artistic integrity and catharsis, and it shows. Everything is constructed with immense levels of tact and precision. Every moment is worth it. Yes, it took a while to click. But once it did, oh boy...

EDIT: HOLY SHIT THIS KICKS ASS. It's definitely too early to say, but this might be my AOTY. Whatever it'll be at the end, I just know I haven't been this obsessed with a new album in a long time.
Periphery Periphery III: Select Difficulty
Some of Periphery's greatest tracks are on this album. Lune, Absolomb, Remain Indoors, Prayer Position, The Way the News Goes, so many great tracks, and the emotional impact helps them a ton.

Easily the best album from Thursday, bar none. Everything they've done previously has led to this point. The atmosphere is hypnotic, Geoff Rickly's voice is at its best, and "Stay True" has to be their best song, period.

As far as I'm concerned, this is the album to beat for my AOTY list this year. Dare I say it's even more of a masterpiece than their debut? Nah, that can't be, I must not have the proper nostalgic backing.rOh and to whoever said this is "jonas brothers on xanax" LMAO okay, this is definitely JoBros even though it's significantly stronger than every song I've ever heard from them... yeah...

Glassjaw Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence
This is Daryl Palumbo at his most brutally honest and blunt. It borders on misogyny at points, but given that he was an emotionally distraught, immature twentysomething and has clearly shown signs of growth, it's an immaturity that can be overlooked. rIt helps that the music absolutely kicks ass too, otherwise it wouldn't have the same impact. m/ m/ m/

Definitely their best album yet. They took their master-class prog roots and made it a lot easier to digest here - both of their "Tearing Back the Veil" albums were sprawling hourlong epics and this is a little under 40 minutes. Great job, Lithium Dawn.
Lithium Dawn Tearing Back the Veil II: Awakening
Metallica ...And Justice for All
This is by far Metallica's magnum opus, and a proper summation of everything the band had created up to that point. Despite a distinct lack of bass (which has been fixed by fan remixes) every song here feels purposeful, if a tad overlong. Lyrically, it's their most relatable. Musically, it's their most technically sound. Every song is etched into my brain, so it's just as memorable as it is relatable and technical. Overall, that makes for an amazing experience.

By far their most underrated work. Whether it's a song like "Ali for Cody" or "Wolves At the Door", it's easily Senses Fail at their most refined. They just had to live in the shadow of Still Searching, and to a lesser extent Let It Enfold You. Even if it's not your favorite, I'd reckon it's better than most of the work that came after, especially Pull the Thorns From Your Heart.

Too inoffensive to hate, and I dig the singles. Only exception is "Po Mouth" which can get punched in the po mouth for all I care, fuck that song.

Sonohara Anonymous
Suicide Silence Suicide Silence

Buckcherry Warpaint
Buckcherry Rock N Roll
Buckcherry Fuck
Daughtry Cage to Rattle
Chris Daughtry said this album would be heavier than Baptized. What a big fat LIE.
Dizzee Rascal Boy In Da Corner
Basically, this is "YA NEVA TEW BIG FA DA BEWTS" for nearly an hour. That's pretty much what grime sounds like anyway, so it doesn't matter if Dizzee said it or not.
Emmure Felony
Etienne Sin Sinna: Volume 1
I don't even have to bother going past "Remember" to assume this band is a vapid borderline-bad-satire "metalcore" band. GARBAGE.
Hinder Welcome to the Freakshow
Johnny Rebel For Segregationists Only
An album that deserves 0.5's far more than Anthem of the Peaceful Army, for sure.
