Hyosis TimennemiT
If great noise rock is supposed to be about breaking the rules, then Hyosis' astonishing album -- TimennemiT, confirms their status as one of the greatest "free jazz" bands in their scene. This album captures a band who not only refused to obey the accepted guidelines of music as a whole, they didn't even bother to pay much attention to their own rules. On the opening cut, "Nemit", Hyosis displays a willful contempt to break the rules of generic noise/post rock. The long drone mysteriously warns the listener of what is in store for the album. Hyosis builds each song meticulously only to resolve the album on the peak of the climax with, "Timen". An odly new-wavey ethos to end a noisy and brutal "break down" of an album. While Hyosis seemed to convey aggression and violence on the unique track "Borg", I began to realise how intense the trio's emotions shined through in their work. To Hyosis music isn't worth playing if it doesn't have passion; every noisy moment of Album -- Hyosis sounds as if they're willing to live and die for this music. On the album-- TimennemiT, Hyosis plays noise rock with none of the pretension that other bands brought to the scene, proving that music doesn't have to have two chords and a chorus to sound make a statement. Overall, TimennemiT was a surprisingly engaging masterwork that profoundly influenced their scene and culture.

King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Paper Mache Dream Balloon
The more I listen to this album, the more I understand it. Gizzard opened my eyes to "psychedelic" rock as a genre. For them to make the brave creative decision of making this album all acoustic is quite incredible in my opinion. It says a lot about the band and their love for making music.
