| A hefty step-up from There Existed an Addiction to Blood to me, which was definitely a great album in its own right. Visions of Bodies Being Burned feels more focused and concise than its predecessor (*ahem* Piano Burning), but also more deranged. I felt genuinely uneasy listening to some of these songs, i.e Make Them Dead or Body for the Pile. Others are just straight up gruesome bangers, such as Say the Name and Check the Lock. The production job on this record is awesome, and Diggs' performance is pretty impressive throughout its runtime. Bruhhhhh, that hook on Enlacing...in short, AOTY material. |

While obviously not as good as the original, I really do love what the band did with this second
S&M. We got to hear some renditions of songs we hadn't heard with the symphony before, the best of
which (on the first half of the album) I'd say is The Day That Never Comes. Confusion was somewhat
of a baffling addition to the set-list, but it's pretty much harmless. The beginning portion of
the second half of the performance is the
most notable part of this album. The 2 classical pieces are pretty awesome, and then we get 3
unique performances: The Unforgiven III (an underrated cut off of Death Magnetic) with just James
and the symphony, an acoustic rendition of All Within My Hands, and a tribute to the late Cliff
Burton with a rendition of Pulling Teeth by a member of the symphony (at least I think that's the
case). All 3 are wonderful, but my favorite was probably the acoustic version of All Within My
Hands, which is better than anything that was originally on St. Anger. They turn what used to be a
dumpster fire of a song into a genuinely emotive song. This is probably my highlight of the entire
album. The rest of the album is pretty standard fare with not too much different from the original
S&M, just weaker performances from the band, which is a given. I'm glad the band did this though
and got a little creative with some of the songs. This is honestly the best thing they've released
since the original S&M, so good for you boys! |

Simply one of the worst things I have ever heard. There is almost nothing of worth here. There are
only two songs worth your time on this album and they come at the end of the 77 minute run time,
which is made up by 19 songs. Castle is one of Eminem's greatest songs, and Arose compliments it
very well, but other than that, this album is pure garbage. Heat, Untouchable, Bad Husband, and
Remind Me are some of the worst tracks Em has ever written. The production is horrific, and the
hooks are absolutely nauseating. The only song with a decent hook is Castle. Absolutely one of the
worst records I've ever had the displeasure of hearing. Would rate a 0.1 if I could. |
