Mac Demarco records his music by playing all the instruments himself, so everything you hear on the album is Mac. The first song I ever listened to by Mac was 'Salad Days' off of 'Salad Days' and it took me a few listens before I could listen to it in my freetime. Since then I love Mac and all of his music, even seeing him in person. While Mac himself described his music as "jizz jazz" I would simply call it indie folk. Mac has definitely changed up his vibe since Salad Days and sounds different on This Old Dog. On Salad Days he kept his sound simple just like Mac Demarco 2. While listening to this album I can vibe to this album and every song (especially Passing out the Pieces). With Salad Days I feel like Mac is more developed than ever and it shows in his music, it is produced very well but the sound isnt very clear, it still has the hazy feel that his other albums have, it doesnt feel to mainstream. The best tracks off the album are: chamber of reflection, passing out the pieces, blue boy, and brother.4.0 excellentCage The Elephant MelophobiaKendrick Lamar To Pimp a ButterflyKing Krule 6 Feet Beneath the Moon3.5 greatBright Eyes Every Day and Every Night3.0 goodKendrick Lamar good kid, m.A.A.d city2.5 averageCage The Elephant Tell Me I'm PrettyMac DeMarco This Old Dog2.0 poorKendrick Lamar untitled unmastered.Mac DeMarco 21.5 very poorMac DeMarco Another One
